From the OpenTable editors: Chef-and-somm brothers Oliver and Nicolas Poilevey's parents opened Chicago's beloved Le Bouchon, so there was already a ton of buzz when the brothers debuted Obélix in 2022. With black-and-white floors, burgundy banquettes, and a name borrowed from the beloved Gallic comic books, the vibe here is definitely more fun than fussy.     This was our second time here. There are several options for starters but limited entrée choices. All food choices were excellent: escargot, onion soup, and the halibut for two that fed three. The chocolate cake was on the small side. Service was uniformly first rate. Main complaint: Our consideration for my birthday was a candle on the cake. This is the first time in as long as I can remember this happened at a celebratory dinner, especially when the tab was $90 a person.

    We go to a new restaurant in Chicago every Saturday. Obelisk is definitely one of the best our city has to offer.

    Overall the meal was delicious! Our server was amazing and very knowledgeable towards the food and made our experience amazing! Would definitely recommend the Wellington and the Steak!

    Obelix continues to be our favorite restaurants in the in the city! Having gone 5 times in the last 2 years, we really treasure this gem as something special to look forward to! The entire staff is amazing and the food is second to none! Cannot wait til I can continue to bring others here!
