From the OpenTable editors: Chef-and-somm brothers Oliver and Nicolas Poilevey's parents opened Chicago's beloved Le Bouchon, so there was already a ton of buzz when the brothers debuted Obélix in 2022. With black-and-white floors, burgundy banquettes, and a name borrowed from the beloved Gallic comic books, the vibe here is definitely more fun than fussy.     Obelix continues to be our favorite restaurants in the in the city! Having gone 5 times in the last 2 years, we really treasure this gem as something special to look forward to! The entire staff is amazing and the food is second to none! Cannot wait til I can continue to bring others here!

    We went to Obelix for the first time for brunch on a Saturday. The space is nice and bright, a bit loud (but this is purely due to people/acoustics, not loud music). The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, from the host, servers, and the owner. Our server very helpful in explaining the cocktails & dishes and what to expect in choosing items. Service was paced very well initially. Then it was very slow, not sure why. There were a few minor faults with 2 of our dishes, but the food was fantastic overall. And I highly recommend starting with the patisserie for brunch. We will be coming back, for sure.
