   The food is great and fresh! The service is not great. We had a dinner reservation at 7:15, quick to bring water but waited over 20 mins for drinks. Our food was another 30 minutes before coming out. Our server said they were running behind. Food is always great but service needs a lot of work.

   The food and drinks were all amazing but the service was extremely slow. Although I do believe it was a slowness in the kitchen rather than with the wait staff.

   Justin our server was incredible! All of the staff were as well, could easily go for a Michelin star if they wanted to, 5 star service

   I have gone to Ok-u in CLT tons of times and have always had an amazing experience, but today we went for a birthday celebration (which they knew of in advance and nicely put “happy birthday” on the menu) and it was by far the worst experience I’ve had. The waitress instantly seemed annoyed with us, everyone else in the restaurant was offered fruit for their water (minor thing but just an observation), and our food took 50 minutes to come out. I completely understand they are busier on M/W due to the happy hour deals, but our waitress wouldn’t even acknowledge us in that time to let us know that we hadn’t been forgotten. Also every time I have been there for a birthday Ok-u has been nice enough to give the guest of honor a small complementary appetizer, which didn’t happen… so we thought they may have discontinued that. No - the table next to us had a birthday and got it but we didn’t. The food itself was good, I really have no complaints in that regard, I was just disappointed at the overall experience and wait time, especially for a special occasion.

   Amazing experience! Our server, Justin, is wonderful. He’s friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and funny. Food and drinks were wonderful, fresh and very tasty. Highly recommend!

   Amazing! Came here to celebrate my husbands acceptance into medical school. Multiple staff members congratulated him. As well as gave us free champagne and a delicious sample of their tuna. The server Justin was friendly and helpful. He was very funny as well. Made our experience all the better. I’m so glad I decided to dine with them for this special occasion. Will definitely be back!

    We had an amazing date here! The food was exceptional and the server was hilarious. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered and we tried quite a few different things. The chef heard it was my boyfriend’s first time there and sent a plate of bluefin carpaccio for us to try that was so amazing we wanted to order all of them. Great time, very sexy date night ambiance or fun girls night too.
