   We ate early on Tuesday which may be the reason why it was very quiet that evening. Servers had nothing to do at that time and kind of just stood right over our table that made us feel a little uncomfortable. The traditional meatball that comes out in the beginning had great flavor but was served cold, or very close to cold. The tuna appetizer was not so great, kind of mushy and not much flavor. The bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp had better flavor, maybe a little over cooked on the bacon and also served cool, not hot. The Rib Eye steak was cooked to perfection, good flavor but lots of fat and grizzle. We eat at the Desi’s in Covington often and this was the first time trying the one in Mandeville and it just didn’t seem as good all the way around.

   We had dinner at Desi’s Mandeville for New Year’s Eve. Everything was top notch. The food and drinks were excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The managers were very professional and checked to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The ambiance was beautiful and classy. I couldn’t think of a better way to end 2024. We will definitely be back.

    It was absolutely wonderful. From the staff to the food. They put me in a separate room that was beautiful to open up my birthday gifts. We are differently dining again.
