At MJ'S Hideout we aim to create authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. A shocking experience. Food was horrible and service was terrible. They had run out of heaps of things on the menu. Don’t waste your money.

Great small Mexican restaurant. Food good and reasonably priced. I felt like they need more staff as they seemed a little stressed. Lovely nevertheless.

Great little restaurant. Lovely food. Restaurant could be slightly warmer on a winters night. Service was ok but not outstanding. Would return.

We were impressed with our first visit to MJs. The food was delicious and fresh. They didn't have one of the drinks available on the menu but that wasn't a huge problem. We sat downstairs and it was freezing every time the door opened. I would definitely ask for a seat upstairs when we return. Overall would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had booked a downstairs table due to our guest having problems with stairs. When we arrived we were told we were moved upstairs yet there was a couple seated at a 4 seated table. Very annoyed as we could have gone elsewhere had we been informed. Once upstairs there were 2 very small round tables for 4 people that really had no room for food so we requested to be moved to a larger table. It was EXTREMELY hot and uncomfortable with a small air con on the opposite side of the room and all 4 of us struggled and ended up feeling an ill from the heat. The owner could definitely put some fans up there to circulate the air a little. We waited 40 minutes for someone to take our order and that was after my husband prompted the waitress. We ordered 2 jugs of cocktails and had to ask three times for the second one. We never received cutlery or napkins. We found a table and helped our selves to napkins which were required while eating Mexican. We had returned due to dining here once before and really liked the service and the food. This time the service was very poor. The young girls were trying and it was a busy Friday night. The food was still good but again the girls seemed to be confused and mixed up our orders serving incorrect dishes between us which we worked out after it was too late. Won’t be returning again.
