Metropole Bar & Kitchen highlights a classic west coast cuisine inspired by our culinary team’s heritage and the local community.

Our lobby-level restaurant welcomes guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, available seven days a week.

Much like the rest of our property, Metropole Bar & Kitchen’s design was inspired by muse Anna May Wong, the first Chinese-American international movie star who lived in Downtown L.A. during the early 1900s during the time of prohibition.

Stepping into our dining area is reminiscent of decades past with nods to DTLA’s prohibition era. From our booths and lowered ceilings that embody speakeasies and underground tunnels that once transported spirits and contraband, to the black & white photos of Jazz musicians inspired by the Jazz Era of the 1920s. I love this restaurant. The food and service are always great. Best calamari in town. I love the Caesar salad with salmon. Server Gennaro is the best!

Food was great. Decoré was beautiful. Service was fair but too many inconsistencies about the menu( seen three different versions of the menu but I think the one on open table is the only reliable one, at least for our visit it was pretty accurate) times they serve food( they switch from breakfast to lunch at a certain time and they close the kitchen) and not enough staff ( took 20 minutes to get greated and seated but not because there was a line or wait, we just never saw anyone at the bar, host stand or on the floor). I will say though, Nigel was the best server we have had in quite a while. He went above and beyond for me and my friend. He is what great service used to be.

The food was good. The staff was kind however very slow in coming back to our table. Someone in my group needed their food remade and they were accommodating.

Outstanding service! Our server was excellent. She gave recommendations from the menu, checked on us frequently, upgraded our glasses of wine, and made my boyfriend’s birthday dinner extra special. Food was really good (4 stars), but had a little room for improvement. We had the halibut and the pork chop - both could have used a little something in the flavor department. One exception: the crabcakes appetizer was amazing!

Food was bad. NY steak was burnt not well done. Country breakfast potatoes were over cooked. The veggies in breakfast potatoes where to big and not in uniform. I was expecting high quality food for this hotel and didn’t exceed to my expectations. For a first timer I would t be coming back to this restaurant. Sorry thumbs down.
