   An excellent experience. Staff very attentive and professional. Food was outstanding and the unexpected treats were delicious and very well received. The menu was clearly prepared, with imaginative presentation and excellent flavours. The venison simply delicious. Cocktails were varied and flavourful. Wine was the perfect compliment to the main course and very reasonably priced. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Will be going back.

   The food was hit and miss. Some elements were on point, such as beautifully cooked venison, but others such as the Brussels side dish were sub par - not sure that fiery spicy Brussels covered in kung po sauce fitted at all with the rest of the menu. The biggest issue we had was with the service. There was one staff member greeting the guests and covering all tables. Drinks ordered never arrived, requests for water on multiple occasions were acknowledged but did not ever materialise, no coffee after meal as they had run out. Overall this place has the ability to be a thriving neighbourhood restaurant and we so deeply wish we had a different experience. We love to support local businesses but I would predict that unless MEMS ups its game it won’t make it.

   Great restaurant - the food and service was exceptional. Very limited choice in Surbiton for a decent restaurant and it is great we have discovered this. Will definitely return

   Have been to all the iterations of this location for past 15 yrs. This was BEST food by far, but maybe a few teething issues with drink stock. Ran out of champagne and no fizzy water, but other than that it was highly enjoyable. Great place to meet up

   Service was very good but unfortunately we were let down by the food. I had the tuna tartare this was excellent, the duck rillette was missing the melba toast and the main course Cornish haddock was bland, the surf & turf didn’t warrant an extra £15 and a side of truffle baby potatoes were undercooked with no taste of truffle! So for us the food was not great.

   We had a lovely meal and were well looked after by the staff. The portions are not big but it was well presented and very nice. My side of brussels was a needed addittion and I enjoyed them although the were the wrong side of al dente for me but still nice.

    All dishes were refined, inventive and beautifully flavoured and presented, so well worth the higher than average prices. Quiet at lunchtime but bound to become more popular I’m sure as it at least matches the standard of its very popular neighbour The French Table.
