Max is an acclaimed Italian restaurant that serves soul satisfying, authentic food with a warm welcome. It originally opened in 2000 in Alphabet City and a few years ago moved to Tribeca. What started as a small place to eat became a many time award winning restaurant and the go to place for consistent high quality food at reasonable prices in an inviting setting.

Four of us sat at a cozy table tucked in by a front window. Lovely and not too noisy so we could catch up. We shared four pastas, which were all delicious. The porcini ravioli and the fiochetti with pear & taleggio were particularly amazing.

A very nice dinner set in a relatively crowded dining room reminiscent of small italian cafes. Noise levels are manageable but maybe not the best for soft spoken conversation. The restaurant is attractive with both modern and classic decor elements in a softly lit dining and bar area. The menu offers classic italian dishes done well

Recently moved to the neighborhood and was hoping to find a local ‘spot’. The meal was adequate, but not exciting. Underseasoned starters and overcooked pastas. We’ll give it another try, given its proximity to our new home and hope it was an off night.

After a full day in NYC ,we had a late dinner at the bar. Everything was fantastic from attentive bartender , the meatball appetizer as well as our pasta dinner. I only wish I had room for dessert.

Max is a constant staple in Tribeca. My mom was in town for the weekend and I knew Max would be the perfect place to take her …the noise level would be fine, the service and food would be delicious and the cozy homey atmosphere would be welcoming. A friend joined us and they shared the fried calamari, I ordered the octopus carpaccio… both dishes were phenomenal. Mom had salmon w mashed potatoes and spinach, our friend Elle and I had the lemon chicken. I cannot recommend Max enough!! I am looking forward to returning!

Awesome experience, kudos! Really enjoyed all the dishes, bartender spun up a great Negroni, great ambiance. 5 stars!
