   I really hope Morgan and team eventually knock it out of the park with this restaurant. The desserts are delicious, and you must try them if you come! We had the tiramisu and freshly baked cookie. Both standouts, and what Morgan is known for. Make sure to stay for the sweets! Thankfully the desserts saved the night, because to be honest, of the eight other dishes we tried, only the Barramundi was up to scratch. If I was being generous, the halloumi was a good concept, but needed to be thinner, so it wasn’t like eating a thick wedge of dry fried cheese with some roasted grapes on top. The wait staff were pleasant and friendly, but it felt a bit like the front of house (like the back of house) was still finding its feet. RE: Food The ‘TAPA IBERICA’ was peach with what could only be described as something that tasted like ‘Warhead’ sour candy crushed up and sprinkled across it. The Jamon that accompanied it was dull, pre-sliced (read brown and discoloured from oxidisation), and quite thick compared to traditional jamon ibérico. The ‘JALAPEÑO & MANCHEGO CROQUETTE’ was a subtly heated croquette. It was fine. Nothing bad, nothing good. ‘SALMON CRUDO’ was far too thick, and tasteless. The tabasco dressing, melon and dill did nothing to add any flavour to an underwhelming dish. ‘JERUSALEM LAMB SHISH’ had fatty lamb that would have been okay IF the fat was rendered. Instead we were presented with a chewy mess. ‘SEARED BARRAMUNDI’ was the first dish our table thought “wow, that’s tasty.” If you’re dining at Maven, then make sure to choose the Barra!! Highly recommended. When discussing the ‘350GR PORTERHOUSE,’ my partner asked “is this even seasoned?” Enough said. And the “CHARRED BROCCOLINI” was served with a glob of soft cheese which was quite … interesting? (bad) Desserts though: do them all. They were fantastic, and well worth your time. This is a new restaurant. And I’m sure it will grow with time. Looking forward to visiting in the future.

   For share plates the servings were small. The chicken and tiramisu were the only highlights after multiple dishes sampled. Too pricey.

   Honestly some of the best food I’ve had in Melbourne. Great for sharing. The Biscoff tiramisu is chefs kiss.

   Maven by Morgan wan an amazing experience, started off great and finished off great, we were escorted to our table by the amazing Morgan himself, he wanted to know if we were celebrating an occasion in which we were, our 34 year wedding anniversary, once we had been seated we had two glasses of chandon on the house sent to our table which was very nice, he came to our table a few times to chat and if needed anything and is a very nice person and very talented at such a young age, the two waiter and waitress that also looked after our table were great, sorry guys I don't know your names but awesome service from you both. Food was delicious we ordered the lamb shoulder the big size to share with a few sides and oh the Tiramisu is a must try. Such a buzzy and energetic feel in a great setting. This was our second visit and will definitely come here again. The whole experience was impeccable.

   Spent a great date night at Maven. Would have been great if Morgan interacted more with his customers. Overall food was superb, loved the burrata such a nice summer twist and the biscoff tiramisu was everything!

    Great dinner. Was there for the date night deal which was fantastic. Service is outstatnding and the food is delicious. Great vibe and seating. Fan of Morgan Bakehouse and now Maven too. Will be back especially for the Tiramisu!
