    Celebrated NYE at Mastro's the service and food was excellent. Mastro's stayed open late for the holiday without charging exuberant prices for the food or service.

    Upon arriving at the restaurant, the host got upset at me because I didn’t want to take the seat in the back and prefer to wait for seating in the area where the singer was, which was stated in my reservation 2 weeks early. Food was cold being served and the lambchops I ordered was so cold the Parmesan cheese was cold that was placed on the lamb chop. We were not served at all by the food guys he just walked away when I asked about him serving us. The plates were  extremely hot That’s why they usually the serve guest but in this case he did not.  I don’t know if it has something to do with it because it was a new year and the staff was tired but afterwards when we toast it for the new year, the staff were sitting down just me and eating and enjoying himself, which is not a problem, but the service was terrible.

    My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The food, ambience, service and NY celebration was awesome. We would do it again.

    Outstanding service, Gigi really took care of us during our time there. Food was great, quite possibly the best wedge salad I’ve ever had and the ribeye was so flavorful. Drinks are large portions.

    Great restaurant overall but a major mistake was made with order. They topped my Ribeye with Lobster meat instead of the requested crab meat. They made the situation right but still it left a disappointing taste overall. This caliber establishment should take extra care to prevent these such mistakes from happening.

    Steakhouses in Chicago are a dime a dozen which makes it hard to choose one over the other. Mastro’s has never disappointed. They check all the boxes and do so to be among the top 5 in my book. Thanks to the crew there for helping my family get out the door quickly for a play last night!

    We dined at Mastro's on Christmas Day, which was probably the issue. They seemed short staffed for waiters and (it seemed) in the kitchen. Food was delicious, but everything took so long and there were long stretches where nobody attended to our table. It was frustrating, but I blame the holiday.
