   Mastro’s Ocean Club in Downtown LA does it again. The Service, Food, and ambiance were incredible. Located directly across the street from the Crypto Arena, Mastro’s makes for a good choice before a Laker Game. Our waiter, Chris, was very attentive and the live music was outstanding. We enjoyed our Martini’s, the spicy Mambo salad, Filet, mushrooms, and baked potato with caviar. If you’re looking forward to a high end meal before visiting Crypto, I highly recommend Mastro’s .

   We had a reservation after attending a LA Kings game across the street. We specifically brought a change of clothing because on the restaurant website they say no sports jerseys, business attire. To our surprise there were people there with jerseys on? We were around 20 minutes early but they would not seat us until our reservation time. After being seated we waited around 20 minutes for someone to take our order and than another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. For me that is just way too long. Other than the wait time , everything else was good. There are numerous top steak restaurants to choose from in LA and I think I will try another establishment next time.

   Reservation booked for available high top chairs area. Turns out this is the bar section. Since it was chilly night, made reservations for the available high top chairs vs outside seating. Turns out, the beautiful glass door separating the outdoor section was wide opened, letting in the cold air. The regular seating area was much more comfortable (as I past by the area on the way to ladies room.). The live singer in the background was fabulous! The service could have been better. My date had lobster and as soon as it arrived, he requested Tabasco sauce. He requested this twice and by time the Tabasco arrived, the lobster was cold. The sashimi appetizer was delicious! The rack of lamb chops were delicious! The steak was also delicious! The lobster was humongous, and the taste of it was not as good as I expected. Lobster bisque was just ok. (Enough for 2 people, as one order looked like it was nearly 20 oz) The lobster Mac and cheese were delicious (this side is plenty for perhaps 3 -4 people). Overall it was a delightful experience and will definitely return.

   This was my first time dining at Mastro’s and it was a beautiful and memorable experience. Our server, Andrew, was very attentive to our needs. We ordered the tuna tartare, himachi, bone marrow, Caesar salad, branzino, sea bass, and cheesecake. Every single dish was delicious! Thank you Mastro’s for a great dinner after the lakers game.

   Not our best experience at Mastros. It was my birthday and lakers game night. Wish it was as good as it usually is

    A truly elegant experience always. Upscale and fashionable ambiance and decor, huge dining room and bar/lounge area. On the pricey side but everything is made with exquisite talent and care and exceeds taste expectations. Very friendly and capable service.
