The name “Mason’s” was derived from John Mason, a sailor and colonizer who mapped and discovered the early waterways in our beautiful region of Maine. In 1622, Mason and fellow explorer Sir Fernando Gorges were granted the territory between the Merrimack and Kennebec rivers called the Province of Maine. The two split the territory along the Piscataqua River in a 1629 pact that resulted in the Province of New Hampshire being formed by Mason in the south and New Somersetshire being created by Gorges to the north, in what is now southwestern Maine. The present Somerset County in Maine preserves this early nomenclature.

My husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at Mason's. This was our first time there and we loved it. We will be back!

Second visit - enjoyed both. You might put ice coffee on the menu - the request threw the server a little, but she rose to the occasion and delivered (really good) coffee over ice in a mason jar clone.

Great food and beer! Also the view was awesome. Super friendly and helpful service! I’m vegetarian and loved the vegetarian options like the buffalo cauliflower!

Excellent service dining outside. Elena was a tremendous server and had wonderful insights for us as tourists. The craft beer is quite good and food better than most breweries.
