   Visited Marcel from out of town for an anniversary dinner and left pretty disappointed. We had a 9PM reservation—not that late—but the whole experience felt rushed. Two of our courses were combined without asking, and the Bordeaux we asked to decant early didn’t arrive until after the steak. Our lead server was great and had some fun stories, but it was clear the staff was closing up around us. Tables were being wiped down, utensils were dropped on us, and we overheard staff arguing behind us about not wanting to take any more tables. We were in and out in about 90 minutes—for a five-course dinner that cost close to $1K. I’d normally expect closer to 2.5 hours for that kind of evening. If the team isn’t interested in guests dining that late, it might be better to cut off reservations at 8 or 8:30. The food was great, but the service and atmosphere missed the mark.

   Dinner at Marcel is an absolute to-do when in ATL!! The dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere and a wonderfully relaxed vibe. This classy fine dining restaurant exudes charm, making it perfect for a romantic evening or just to indulge in a rich, boujee experience lol

   Steak was brought Luke warm to the table after an hour wait. Also was not the cut we expected. Was smaller than advertised and the bone was not correctly trimmed. Wine was bland and flat. Price was inflated 4-5x. Certain wines are misrepresented (low quality vintage brought to table). Bottle was opened and decanted behind a curtain, not sure what was actually brought to our table, could be bait and switch. Their bread is a pancake ! Learn to bake a proper biscuit! Never returning

   Unfortunately, they sat us in the back of the bar area. This is my favorite place to eat, but you do not want to sit in the bar. It was so loud and we had a table next to us that was screaming. I’ve eaten there six times And it is my favorite place to eat in Atlanta, but it was my worst experience because we were in the bar and it was so loud.

   First time dining here and had high expectations due to its reputation. Arrived with reservations and was met by a cold hostess who only stated it will be a little while. Service was very slow for drinks and food. Tables are so close together you might as well introduce yourself since everyone can hear everyone’s conversation. Mark was a top notch waiter and was definitely the highlight of the night. Didn’t particularly like the style of how they cook the steaks but sides, and dessert were fantastic. Restaurant is so loud you can’t hardly carry on a conversation, without leaning forward to hear. Overall it’s too pricey for the experience that I had.

   Marcel is a favorite of mine for the food and service. This reservation I noted that we were celebrating 2 years since our first date. They mentioned it immediately, stamped our menus and added a little note in chocolate on the dessert we ordered. Everything was great!
