   Always a great meal. Brussels sprouts are some of the best in town for appetizers. Enjoy the lobster roll. The mallards mule is an excellent custom drink.

   Dined here with a group of ladies, we had a great time! However, the food and service was subpar. The food was overly seasoned and barely edible! Someone was VERY heavy handed with the spice! And I like spice! The lady who served us seem to be in a rush and was rude. I was quite taken aback by some of the things she said. After having a conversation she tried to clean it up, but we were close to leaving at that point. Overall not the best experience, not sure if I would come back.

   I stopped by Mallards in Bloomington, MN after watching a TikTok video raving about their Hot Chicken and Cornbread Waffles—so I had to see if it lived up to the hype! Food Review: - Hot Chicken & Cornbread Waffles (8/10) – The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and packed with spice—absolutely delicious. However, the spicy sauce overpowered the cornbread waffles, making it hard to enjoy the maple syrup’s sweetness. If the balance were better, this dish would be a knockout! - Jambalaya – Beautiful presentation, but unfortunately, the flavor didn’t match the look. It could have used more seasoning to bring out the bold Cajun flavors. - Meatloaf Platter (10/10) – This was a standout dish! The meatloaf was flavorful, tender, and well-seasoned. Highly recommend! - Desserts – The Caramel Apple Pie was the best of the bunch, with a perfect mix of tart and sweet. The flourless chocolate cake was rich, decadent, and a dream for chocolate lovers—great for sharing! Service & Atmosphere: Service was friendly and efficient, making the dining experience enjoyable. If you’re hungry in the Bloomington area and need a quick, satisfying bite, Mallards is worth a visit! Would I return? Yes! I’d love to explore more of their menu and maybe try the hot chicken again with the sauce on the side.

   Food was decent. Service was ok. Cleanliness of the restaurant was the reason for 3 stars. The floors were extremely sticky throughout the establishment. Gives you a gross feeling as you are guided to your table.
