Re-envisioned by Paris-based designer India Mahdavi, it’s a bold new look which will take your dining experience to a whole new level. Bright colors and cozy banquettes. More outdoor dining. Makoto Okuwa ushers Japanese cuisine into the 21st century at his eponymous eatery, located on the 3rd floor of the luxurious Bal Harbour Shops. One of Miami’s most accomplished chefs, Okuwa, a master of Edomae-style sushi, reshapes tradition for a savvy audience eager for something new.     The food was exceptional last night! Our experience dining was made better by our sever Madison, she has great energy and made us feel so welcome. My family has eaten here many times but last night was absolutely divine. Highly recommend :)

    Charging someone for a can of Diet Coke $7.50 is outrageous. The food took a long time to come out of the kitchen and the restaurant was empty.

    The most incredible dishes - the best seaweed salad, veggie fried rice and the soft-shell crab roll was outstanding! Incredible flavor, freshness and even better than anything that I have had while traveling across Japan. A true gem!!!

    We got the sushi sampler, wagyu strip, crispy tuna, handroll, and okinawa tres leches. Everything was amazing. I loved the view and ambiance of the rooftop. Service was amazing as well.

    Food in Makoto is fine , not the best sushi I had but ok. The experience is very disappointing, noise level very high impossible to have a nice dinner there. Service is average not especially in any way. We used to frequent go to Makoto before when it was in the first floor. It had chance ,the quality of food and also the clientele. It’s became vulgar, noisy and bright. Not recommend
