We were really excited to go to the Magic lamp- having lived in the area our whole lives but had never been. When we saw it was being remodeled, we were anxious to see it complete. Upon entering a few minutes early for our reservation, we were invited to sit by the fire place where live music was being performed. It was beautiful and dreamy. Then the hostess led us to the very first table that was practically in both the hall way and entry way at the same time, right in front of the hostess table. It felt like an awkward place immediately. And I regret not saying anything about my displeasure before it was too late. We heard her tell another couple they could sit anywhere they like in the section and suggested they “tuck themselves into the corner”. We wondered what we need to do next time to get the same treatment. We ordered and waited about an hour for our entrees to arrive. I asked the waitress if the salmon was wild caught, but it was farmed salmon. I usually try to avoid farm raised salmon, but relented. The waitress came by a couple times to apologize and let us know it was on its way. In the mean time someone brought us more bread, and though I requested two more bread plates, no one came with them so I took one from the table across from me. Our food tasted very good and the atmosphere was wonderful, but we felt for the prices on the menu, we should have had a better experience. The Magic Lamp has the potential to be a truly fine dining experience. We hope next time we come, it will be.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Ranchos The Magic Lamp. We'd never been here before. We shared a filet mignon, which was perfect with asparagus , mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. We also shared the scallops, which were delicious, not rubbery at all. Quite large in size perfectto share. We tried the Hemingway and The Golden Hour Martinis which was a splurgefor us. The were quite tasty. Dessert was The Magic Chocolate Cake, not my favorite, it wasn't terrible just o.k. overall I'd say an 9 out of 10. The ambiance here was very nice. I loved the old Hollywood feel. They also had a table magician and was really good!! It's a great date place. Personally I wouldn't bring kids, I feel if you're spending two bills for a night out you deserve to be kid free. They have live singing which was excellent. They provide lighted menus which I thought awesome! It's been a wonderful Valentines weekend.

Our Valentines Day celebration was made extra special thanks to our choice to dine at the Magic Lamp Inn. Everything about our evening exceeded our expectations starting with the nostalgic decor. The staff were stellar and the live singer elevated an already elegant evening. the food was superbly prepared and the timing of the delivery was perfect . The Magic Lamp Inn is setting the bar pretty high for any restaurants we choose in the future .

Would like to see Baked Potato as an option for Mashed Potato rather than being a side dish!!!

Service and cocktails were excellent. Lynn was wonderful!! The music and ambiance was a nice change. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food. Other than decent portion sizes, everything that came out was cold and lacked flavor. Also, the mashed potatoes tasted like straight sugar, we did not try the steaks, but felt that the food overall was not memorable.

Everything was outstanding for me and my family of four with all our busy schedules it was great getting together for a nice evening together.I only gave service a 3 star because our waiter was an older gentleman that was extremely unpleasant and at times very rude!! He should not be a waiter because unfortunately he kills the vibe and is super dry like he’s miserable. The hostess and neighboring waitresses were all super friendly and always smiling. We were celebrating a birthday which is obvious because they have balloon arrangement at the table so the waitresses when walking by asked whose birthday is it and wished my son a happy birthday whereas our waiter never acknowledged it. Despite this we made the best of our time and otherwise enjoyed everything else the restaurant has to offer!! Great food, ambience, and entertainment!!

We’ve eaten at this place before the closure and it was amazing eat time. Since the reopening we were excited to come back and enjoy one of our favorite places. What a disappointment. Service was amazing. Food on the other hand was beyond less than par. Lobster Mac n cheese was tasteless, French onion soup is bland and missing key ingredients. Garlic mashed potatoes had lil to no seasoning. Only thing was great was the filet and prime rib. Had a mai tai and it tasted like syrup. Extremely disappointing when our bill was $300+ for food. Won’t be going back.
