Welcome to Longrain, Melbourne, continuing to evolve Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision with a menu that brings together South East Asian influences with the best Victorian produce. Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Large servings and communal tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended.
Dividing the cocktail lounge from the main dining area, the bar is the heart of the Longrain space. This is where our talented bartenders create beautiful twists on the classics, taking inspiration from the bright, zesty flavours of South East Asia. Come early and wait for your table with a stick drink while you watch the chefs shred chillies through the kitchen window. Perfect for pre and post-theatre drinks, the bar is open from early evening till late.

The food was fantastic and is always consistant in quality. I love the space and ability to dine with 2 or 20 people. The staff were great and we had a memorable night.

This was my first time dining at your restaurant. Several people had eating 'requirements' and the staff were super helpful in organising dishes appropriately. The food was divine. My only suggestion is that the venue is very dark - too dark! I was greeted my two males in the female toilets as they had been unable to see the sign on the door correctly. I totally understood because I had stood there for a while in the dark trying to decicpher it myself! Add some lighting please so you can see the food, your friends and find your way safely to the bathrooms!
