We used to go to Rivas in connection with our Chicago Shakespeare tickets. Whirl our service was top notch and the food was good, disappointingly, the feeling of being in a Hilton, a McPlace, comes through. Perhaps our seats near the door and bar accentuated the big hotel ambiance.

Food was salty and took a long time to get courses out despite it being relatively slow - most everyone had left for the theater by the time we ordered. Server was nice though. They automatically added 18% gratuity for our part of 4.

Pleasant ambience even on a wintry night; it must be outstanding, with a great view of Lake Michigan, in pleasant, warm weather. Food was good (not terrific or imaginative), prices were reasonable (after discount given to Chgo Shakespeare Theatre patrons), service was outstanding. Small problem is the location: It's at the far eastern end of Navy Pier, a long walk from just about everything else.

The food is average although the menu is limited. The service was horrible. For example, no one in the restaurant noticed that we accidentally tipped over a water glass and used all our napkins to dry the mess. When we requested more napkins, we never received them. We ordered appetizers. Our waitress did not return to take our meal order until we were nearly finished eating our appetizers. The person who appeared to be the manager was very concerned about the table next to us and their food but never stopped at our table. We will not return.

This place is great. The food is great. The staff is just very nice, friendly and attentive. The manager saw me and my wife taking selfies and came out posed us in the proper place and took the pictures for us. It was awesome. We highly recommend this place. The staff is awesome. The food is awesome. The prices are well worth the service. Five Stars

Roger our waiter gave me a delicious pepper since I couldn’t have onion on my burger. He made certain our food and drinks were exactly as ordered. The rest of the staff was also very good at their jobs. The food was good but with the sort of up-charge you’d expect from a hotel restaurant in a tourist area. We were going to the theatre so we got the 20% discount which made the prices within our reach. It was nice to watch the sky & water change with sunset.

It was a great and convenient place to stop for dinner before going to the Shakespeare theater. I enjoyed the small plates and the food was great.
