We sought a special dinner for a special birthday and found LVL 5 atop the Hotel Chaco up to the task of providing incredible food & service - in a gorgeous rooftop setting. This Asparagus Tarte Tatin was beyond amazing. It’s the kind of food that COULD be pretentious and done improperly but instead, hit that flavor sweet spot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This restaurant COULD be amazing. The view of the Sandia Mountains could be amazing but the walls around the outdoor dining area are too tall and so it is difficult to see the incredible views from the seating area. I specifically requested a table with a view of the mountains when I made the reservation a month in advance, but that was not honored. When I questioned why they shuffled us off to table in the far northwest corner with zero view due to the wall around the perimeter. Why would they not use super think glass walls to be able to see the views? Our server, Mariella, was very kind and attentive. The food was alright, but not amazing. I had the snapper and it was too dry. It had a tasty citrus glaze, but it was on the skin side of the fish and did not penetrate the flesh of the fish, so it was dry and bland. The asparagus tart was LOADED with far too many rubbery mushrooms and about 4 asparagus. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Do not think I will return for food.

The restaurant is in a unique and fun location. Some tables are hard to sit at when the sun is intense (west). I had one speciality margarita but it wasn't good. I like to try twists on classics, but this one missed the mark. My daughter said the wine was great (she researched and was not disappointed with her selection). The appetizers we ordered we good - plentiful and shareable. The Asparagus Tart and the Chicken Liver Pate. Sugar Snap Pea Caesar a winner. The sauce with the filet was too salty (and I love salt, so for me to say that - no bueno). Overall, a very enjoyable meal and evening. Oh and the chocolate/strawberry mousse desert was a winner.

Really nice atmosphere. Great ambience. Unfortunately it started to rain so we couldn’t enjoy the outside space as long as we would have liked. I would highly encourage everyone to try this place. Sarah were highly attentive. And a few appetizers we had were very good.
