*2024 Michelin Recommended* - Leche de Tigre is a cebichería and pisco bar with an authentic Peruvian essence. We invite you to a party of flavors and culture. A cebiche bar is a gastronomic experience in which the cook prepares different ceviches in front of the diners using fresh products while sharing information and part of the process. Pisco is a Peruvian drink with a designation of origin, the drink is made from the grape brandy obtained from the distillation of the fermentation of grape must.

Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: The only San Antonio restaurant to earn a spot on Texas Monthly’s Best New Restaurants list in 2024, this lively Lone Star spot is where you go for vibrant dishes that celebrate chef Emil Oliva’s Peruvian heritage. Grab a seat at the bar framed by a massive tiger mural to watch Oliva whip up punchy cebiches and bold plates like arroz con mariscos with butternut squash and ají amarillo paired with one of the restaurant’s many pisco-based cocktails.

I was expecting Peruvian food when I booked this restaurant. What I got was far from Peruvian. Food was salty and overly saucy. The restaurant states that you can order for family style, but none of the food blends with the other. So how can you say family style when the foods do not compliment each other? Spent over $300 and wasn’t worth the price or a return visit.

Food was very good and certainly a culinary experience, Branzino was the star as were the mussels! A MUST on both.

My son and I were looking forward to enjoying our favorite dishes at Leche. We made a 4pm reservation specifically to avoid the NYE rush and prescribed menu. We did not know that there would be a prescribed menu for the 4pm seating, so we ordered the menu items closest to what we had prior. The menu items were over dressed/ spiced/ oiled (tuna tostada), and underwhelming (the waygu) - all of which I would have overlooked if the service was good. I ordered all courses at once, to make it easier for the service - but it seems that the main course was fired late (it came an hour after the 1st course, which my son couldn’t eat due to the over spicing) and then the dessert came without the cocktail pairing that I had asked be matched with the dessert. All in all, it wasn’t worth $200, nor was it what we’ve experienced at Leche in the past.

This was an outstanding date night, sitting at the ceviche bar was not only mesmerizing and entertaining, but I had more questions than anybody could possibly answer. I rank this is a cultural, and quite a culinary experience that's spectacular in San Antonio. I went last night for the first time and I'm ready to go back for lunch today

Good food, but portions are too small for sharing.

We love this place: great pisco sour, good wine selection, very nice cebiche and entrees. The rice was slightly overcooked to my palate but ok for most guests. Just a caution that’s it’s very busy on the weekends and even with a reservation you may have to wait and not get seated at the section you reserved. But the staff is extremely cordial and friendly
