About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
Enjoy a taste of France at Le Baratin, 1600 Dundas West, with a unique menu and an enchanting atmosphere.
We offer 2 setting every night; The first dinner service from 5:30 through to 6:30 pm is a maximum of 2 hours dinner experience.
For BRUNCH we do not take reservation - walk-in only, from 10 am till 3:30 pm.
Take an imaginary plane in the evening with the culinary experience of our French inspired menu.
Food prepared at Le Baratin is indeed classic with a modern twist. Classic in a sense of ‘old school’: our sauces are all made in-house, with a veal-based stock. These days, that is very rare.
For Brunch, the Croque Monsieur is a must-have. French peasant, or street food, is uniquely reinvented here.
Our wine list is mid-priced and extensively

This is always the spot I choose for a romantic dinner or a reunion with a friend and it never disappoints! The food is always exceptional, the wine is fantastic and the service impeccable. This time was no different. I had the soup of the day and it was divine and had the steak frites that was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Toronto and locals for date nights, family time, friend gatherings and even solo dinners.

I had the lamb shank and thought it was very good. The broth was tasty and meat fell off the bone. The service was great and the two guys did a great job of ensuring everyone was loomed after. My wife has the cheese tart ( don't remember the name) and really enjoyed the food and presentstion Would definitely come back again.

I went to Le Baratin for my birthday and it was a bad experience, wrong place to celebrate it. I ordered Lamb, my wife ordered Steak frites. The Lamb was badly seasoned, it didn't look fresh, and the Steak frites was way worse. She ordered "medium rare", but it was definitely raw inside. Both meats were cold. It isn't worth it. Expensive place with a food like that, doesn't make any sense. At first we ordered the two course menu, planning to eat a desert, but after the main dish I didn't want to spend my money on it.

People of Toronto if you have to try one French restaurant, try le baratin. Already came a couple of time, love it here. It is so nice to have some true French food, remind me of home. Great menu and affordable for the quality offered. The wine list is also nice and priced correctly. Will be back.

My colleague who migrated from France recommended this French resto to me. Parents and I went for dinner. We chose the 3-course dinner menu. From appetizer to main to dessert, every dish was delicious! Service was great! Friendly and not intrusive. My parents got stuck in traffic and took a bit of time to find parking. The restaurant was very patient with me and understood the situation. We really appreciate this. I’ll recommend this to my friends and will definitely come back!

This is the second time I've been to Le Baratin and once again, it was impeccable. The vibe is perfect, all the food is top notch, and the service is great. A true slice of France in the middle of Toronto. For the quality and service you receive, the prices are really fair. Highly recommend Le Baratin.

Thank you so much Rhiannon. We really appreciate that you took the time to review your dinner at Le Baratin and that you mentioned both the food and the service. A ''true'' lovely review for a ''true'' French bistro. Merci Beaucoup.
