I looked up eateries near the music hall for dinner while my kids were at a show, lascala had great reviews!, bonus points for free validating parking, which employees were helpful with, we sat to the right which was a cozy atmosphere, our server was friendly & let us take our time when she knew we weren’t in a hurry, great variety, & some items were unique, not all the typical Italian menu, the burrata board, crab & shrimp linguini, chicken panini & chocolate cake were delish!, the portions are very decent, & the flavorful piadina bread was a nice twist on the usual bread used!

Our server was Melanie, she was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, we had the calamari, Tuscan wings and a Cesar salad for appetizers. Then had the fig pizza and chicken Milanese. We took plenty of food home, but everything was great.

In one of my favorite restaurants!, One of my favorite places the service first only complaint is that sometimes the food is better one day than another. Thank

By the time we left, there were no empty tables—a busy night. But we were one of the few tables when we arrived at 5:00 (post-theater), so the slow service was not due to the crowd. The food varied in quality—overly sweet squash soup was my wife’s low point, but she found the Chicken Piccata to be quite tasty. I ordered two of my longstanding favorites—the low was the Veal Marsala (thin slices but quite tough) but the Tiramisu was better than half of those I’ve had. The total (before tip and before the 3% charge for using a credit card) was over $100 even though we ordered no drinks. The ( increasingly loud) folks at other tables seemed to be enjoying their pizzas.

For the first time I was a little disappointed. The Italian Sausage Rigatoni had very little discernible sausage in it, and what there was was very bland. Not your typical flavorful Italian sausage. The tiramisu was also very disappointing. It was not tiramisu, but vanilla layer cake with a thick cream icing and chocolate chips. The profiteroles were meh also. I’m usually a big fan of LaScala, but not tonight I’m sorry to say.

Everything was good overall, but it does sometimes feel the waitstaff is understaffed. Our server was always on the move and seemed spread across a large swath of the restaurant. She did a good job, considering this, but we’ve had her before, and she was able to be excellent because she wasn’t spread too thinly. Also, on an annoying note, there was no parking attendant to let us out, so we ended up having to pay to get out despite getting our parking validated by the restaurant. But overall, we did have a nice night and will be back :)
