   The wait staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good. We had a pizza, salmon and whitefish and all were good. Loved the ambiance for New Years Eve!

   Best Bolognese sauce ever. Good shrimp appetizer. Waiter was clearly overwhelmed (at this early hour)

   We have been to LaBarra 50 times and was looking to enjoy our NYE. Went to dinner at 4:30 to beat rush. Deep dish Russo sausage was like soup, the 3 of us didn’t even finish our first helping, my daughter presented sliders and after the 3 person a manager showed and asked how it was, she went to check on her meal that hadn’t come out even 10 mins after our pizza, sliders were cold and chewy. Also unedible. What was once a destination for us is no longer a place we will visit anytime soon. It seems the combining of the 2 venues in oak Brook resulted in a mess. Maybe a new place will takeover the space since it’s great.

   The restaurant offers a lovely ambiance and a friendly, welcoming staff. The menu is thoughtfully curated, and our meals were beautifully prepared and enjoyable. However, after the meals were served, the service slowed down noticeably, which was a bit disappointing, but understandable since it was New Years Eve. Additionally, we were surprised to see a SERVICE FEE automatically added to the bill. It would have been appreciated if this detail had been communicated more clearly upfront. It was hard to swallow, and unsettling to have an added & unexpected fee.

   Service felt rushed. Food wasn’t on par with what we’ve previously had. They swapped out our Neapolitan pizza with a thin crust pizza and didn’t even tell us until the check came. Probably won’t be back for a while.

   This restaurant is cute on the inside with a large bar that would be fun. The food is mediocre, chain Italian. The pizza however looked good. We did not try it. The server was very nice but so slow! It took a very long time to receive a simple order. Will in no way be rushing back.

   Hoped to enjoy a fun Christmas Eve dinner with our family however it didn’t turn out so well. Our server insisted in not writing our order down (7) people. When we asked her to she said “no it’s not a problem, I’ll remember.” Well she didn’t. Half of our food never came and an entree we didn’t order, did. (We sent it back.) Server was also a “no show” once our drinks were delivered. We finally contacted a manager to ask where our remaining food was and where our SERVER was. (Did she maybe go home?) She then reappeared, insisting she put the correct order in. However, the kitchen was not busy making anything we had ordered. It was very quiet according to the manager. We were perplexed as we saw other tables being properly served and actually finishing their meal and exiting the restaurant before we had even been served. Basically it was a poor choice to choose this restaurant for Christmas Eve even though the manager did her best to make it up to us in the reflection of our final bill, but the damage already been done, unfortunately. Won’t be back!

    Food is good. Best turkey bigger around. While I was waiting for my party three people came on looking for what was the old cafe. It was much better with the bakery and menu overall. Hostesses were talking to each other and saying it’s crazy/that they can’t believe people are still looking for the old place, even after however many months. Says a lot! All three left to go elsewhere.
