Mezcalería Insurreto is a space that has marked its spot in the gastronomic scene of San Miguel de Allende since 2013. The constant renewal of the menu makes this a fresh and innovative place.

Our selection of Mezcales and Mexican Spirits is unmatched, since we are based on the Master Mezcaleros and the different agaves that we can find, resulting in a menu rich in very special spirits and boutique batches.

Our menu includes dishes as unique as the Porkbelly bathed in Mole Negro from Oaxaca, made entirely at home with the recipe of our Chef Mario Iribe-Benítez, originally from that state in southeastern Mexico.

We love to include endemic Mexican ingredients in our products and present dishes full of flavor and color for all audiences, including vegan and vegetarian options.

In addition to our restaurant, we have a Tasting Room where we carry out Sensory Tastings of Mezcal & Mexican Spirits.

Luis is a knowledgeable server, very professional, helpful, friendly. The chef is clearly a talent. All of the food was delicious but what stood out was that the vegetables were abundant and beautifully prepared. Broccoli and cauliflower with 2 sauces. Perfectly cooked. Mushrooms and zucchini, same. Our group had a beef tlyuda, pork belly with mole and short rib tacos in addition to the vegies. It was lovely evening.

Grilled artichokes were very good . Pork belly had v good mole sauce but was v overcooked & dry. Seafood bad . Mezcalitas were good. Very small space and they let beggar come in repeatedly.

We had read some really great reviews and were really looking forward to a good meal. I will say that is was good but not great. We have been to Oaxaca many many times and enjoy their unique dishes. This was not special I am sorry to say.

Inventive menu, delicious food and amazing presentation. The perfect place to try out Oaxacan cuisine in a laid-back, beautifully decorated smaller setting just far enough from the madness of downtown San Miguel de Allende to be a walkable sanctuary.

We enjoyed our visit at La Mezcalaria. We arrived when they opened and were seated promptly. The staff was friendly and attentive. They made helpful recommendations and we enjoyed everything from the Mezcalitas, guacamole, huaracha rib eye and the Oaxacan brownie. Amazing from start to finish.
