Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Stunning location, very festive for the holiday season! We came for an early lunch at 11:30am on the Monday between Christmas and New Year's, and it wasn't crowded at all. The lunch menu is slightly cheaper than the brunch and dinner menu and the portions are HUGE. It's really great bang for your buck, which isn't a given in this city. And the quality was fantastic - easily up there with Le Dip - and the service was much friendlier. Our server was Christopher, who was really lovely and attentive, and altogether we had a really lovely time.

Had our anniversary dinner there and it was just beautiful. The food was 10/10 amazing, best steak I think I’ve had ever. And their profiteroles dessert was to die for. the only thing that would have made it better was the bathroom not being all the way downstairs and gender neutral. Kind of weird to me to have men in there. and the tables were so small and the chairs were uncomfortable. Think bistro table lol

Overall the food was absolutely spectacular. It was our 24th anniversary and we were greeted with a half glass of champagne each. All of the food was amazing except they did not have what we had ordered so we had to substitute a few things which was equally amazing. There was a 3% fee added on to the bill which was not disclosed from the beginning. For our anniversary we were told that they do not do a special anniversary dessert or anything like that. However our server did bring us ice cream. Very good experience.

Placed in the comments that we were celebrating our anniversary. Our anniversary was acknowledged upon check in but our extremely tiny table was right by the restrooms and the wait stand. The food and service was excellent and we would have stayed longer to enjoy more drinks and dessert to celebrate our anniversary had we had a such a horrible table location.

Overpriced for the food. Lots of piles of tasteless salad. Mediocre selections. Seats along the sides of the restaurant are uncomfortable and the tables are much too small.

An incredible dining experience form entry to exit! Food is well proportioned and staff is friendly knowledgeable. Pricey but you certainly feel like you got what you paid for.

OBVIOUSLY it is gorgeous over the Holidays and that is the draw- as is the unique architecture of the three story restaurant. The food is extremely overpriced and the not very good. For my family of 5 our bill was $680 and the food was marginal. Appetizers were super salty and fried. I had three unremarkable scallops for $47. My husbands pasta sauce tasted like it was out of can!my kids steaks were ok. The environment is so special but it's probably more ideal to go for a cocktail and maybe an appetizer. they had a fun jazz band on the main level but because of the acoustics we could hardly hear each other during the meal.

Was really hyped on the new environment and ambience per the photos and reviews I saw. And with the pedigree of this restaurant, really expected a lot more for a $425 price tag for 2. Steak had an incomplete sear (just the edges), we didn’t get served the bottle of wine we ordered until we had already started our main course and had to ask for the wine. Most definitely did not meet the value proposition and will likely be steering diners away because the experience was nowhere close to worth the money. Very disappointed due to the perceived expectation. 😢
