   Maybe they were busy so I’ll try when it’s not valentines, I’ve been eating here since I was a kid and this is the first time I’ve experienced it like this. The food did not come as described or items were missing, this hot stone for the cook your own steak wasn’t very hot and the meat tasted microwaved, the lamb chops were missing items, asked for bread and didn’t get it, refills were slow. Maybe a one off, I’ll give it another chance.

   We had a 7pm reservation on Valetines night but when we arrived thete were 20 or so people standing outside the entrance. We tried to enter to check in but there we so many people in the entrance with 6:15 reservations that had no even made it to check in!!!! I think this place should have to pay every party that had a confirmed reservation a penalty equal to two free meals equal to the fixed price for tonight!

   Had a confirmed reservation on valentines day through open table. When we showed up they said they overbooked so there would be a 90 minute wait. Lobby full of unhappy couples with the same situation. They said they would call when our table was ready but they never called so we did not get to eat there. I do not recommend booking special occasions here.

   Showed up for our reservation and was told it would be a 45 minute wait. We gave our phone to wait in the car and they never called.

   Had reservations for 6:15 on Valentine’s Day. Arrived at 6, wait staff said it was would 20-25 minutes. 45 minutes later we were sat. Was told by our waiter if we didn’t want to wait long for food then to just order the filet that cooked on the stone at our table. Filet was choice at best. Not much of a wine by the glass list. Their bottles of wine were 200% the price of in stores. The place and waiter was neat. Overall experience was 2 stars.

   Reservation was not honored. Told to expect 40 minute delay. The bar was overcrowded so we waited in the car for almost two hours for the call our table was available. Never got in. Total disorganization and complete lack of concern for customers. Been going to this establishment for many years and hoped for a special evening.

   Dining with our close friends as a Valentine’s tradition, we had a terrible experience. I have been going to La Bistro for over 35 years. The food and service has always been good. It’s a unique place and “old school.” Based on this experience, we will never step foot in La Bistro again. Our reservation was at 6:00pm. The hostess said they had too many tables of two come beforehand and now there would be a 20 minute wait. After 50 minutes, we were finally sat. We sat there for 30 minutes at least before we had any service. We actually never had a waiter. We had 4-5 different people help us, but we had to order drinks 3 times before we actually got a drink. No one followed through and when you did have someone, you better hurry, because they would rush you. We rarely saw wait staff. One nearby diner told us unsolicited to be sure to ask for anything you need well beforehand or you wouldn’t have it before finishing your meal. We finally ordered and even with a set menu, they still messed up. After bringing out the appetizer, they brought out the entree and skipped the salad. They took our entrees back and then brought the salads. Much much later, we received our entrees. My wife’s chicken marsala was cold. I had the rock steak (which you cook yourself on a really awesome salt stone) was the best thing of the evening. Meat was high quality, but the vegetables that came with it had the texture of pre-frozen vegetables. Cheesecake was so so. Dry and a little flavorless. We waited and waited for the check. The man, who I have always assumed is the owner, waited on us a few time, but was never polite or helpful. There is really no excuse for this restaurant to mess everything up so bad. They obviously overbooked the restaurant. For what reason, I do not know. But with a pre-set menu in which many of the times are pre-prepared, none of the delays made any sense. Worse, they didn’t seem to even care. By the way, it was $79.95 per person.

   It was a Valentine’s Day menu. The food was good but the kitchen was overwhelmed so the service was slow.

    It was a throwback dining experience (in a good way) with classic waiter service from a cart and live piano music. The food was excellent -veal was tender and perfectly prepared as was the grilled chicken Alfredo. The owner came to our table for a very nice conversation - they’ve been in business for 40+ years! We will definitely be back.
