We reserved here for my milestone birthday and were very warmly greeted at the door by the Maitre d’. He offered us a choice of table and we had a very nice one exactly as we enjoy. Our server, Quentin, was outstanding and described all the dishes that we had ordered very well. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. To finish we ordered soufflé’s, which again were wonderfully prepared and very tasty. They also kindly comforters a very rich piece of chocolate cake for my birthday, which was most appreciated.

The service was spectacular! Such warm, helpful and fun people work here. They all seem to want to be there which is especially nice. They also serve delicious and nicely potent cocktails. Unfortunately, the food was mixed. The steak tartare was memorable and very tasty. I loved the sous vide egg yolk. My duck was good, but not great. The breast portion was lovely. Really enjoyed the crust, but the pressed leg portion lacked any flavor and tasted a bit like sawdust. The sweet potato was ok, but literally one bite. Husband’s steak was chewy, but the sauce was good. The “fries” were ok. Proper duck fat fries would have been better. I’d go again, if only for the staff. Truly great. We especially remember the bartender and the sommelier.

As always, the reception and service at La Bise were delightful. The dining room was just about full and the ambience was pleasant. The white asparagus appetizer was memorable; the monkfish with carrots seven ways less so (the fish was dry and bland). My colleague reported that his chicken entree was excellent, and it looked that way.

The food and bartender are great, the sommelier was great. The woman seating people (who appeared to be the manager) was HORRIBLE. She refused to seat us at first and said we had to sit at the bar despite having a reservation and having plenty of open seats. From our vantage point at the bar, we then witnessed her berate multiple staff, both in the kitchen and at the bar. She continued to sit others despite them not having a reservation as well. This was our second time at the restaurant, and this has been her behavior both times. We will not return to that hostile environment. Your staff deserve better.

Absolutely delicious food, gorgeous plating, and impeccable service. Everyone we met was incredibly nice, welcoming, and attentive and made my birthday dinner perfect. I was incredibly impressed by our server's knowledge and explanation of our dishes as well. We will be back!
