Food: Scallop Ceviche: Make sure to add 1 piece of each ingredient into each bite and you will get 4 or 5 perfectly combined flavors. Really good! Grilled Prawns: Best tasting prawns I have had in Los Angeles. Only one other location in San Diego revivals the OH WOW taste level. Make sure to eat the crunchy and creamy prawn head meat as well, this is what sets this dish so far apart from other prawns. Little Gem Salad: Great tasting salad. Nothing crazy special, but really delicious. Hanger Steak: My wife had to get it well done because she's pregnant, and it was still delicious even though it couldn't be cooked to the standard medium rare to medium well. The staff also gave no fuss about making it well done, which is a nice change of pace from other places, where even tho my wife is obviously pregnant, we usually have to have them re-cook steak 1 or 2 times to actually get it well done. Halibut: Perfect combination of flavors with the tomato based soup and each ingredient. Make sure to get each ingredient into each bite! Dessert: Brown butter cake: Perfect! With a little caramel, cream and the insanely buttery cake, every person at the table had the involuntary OH WOW, MMMMHH! Banana Pudding: Perfect! Perfect sweetness, not too heavy, best banana pudding I have had. Ice cream sandwich: Nothing fancy, but delicious. The brownie style thin top and bottom layers, gave a great chocolate level to match the amount of ice cream. We would say Chef Meehan's previous Kali restaurant was better in terms of tastes in each dish, but Kali was also more expensive, and we will be able to go to Koast more often because of it. Check out Koast's entrance when you walk in as well. It's a special artistic, unique, and nature'y addition! Can't wait for Kali or Chef Meehan's new steakhouse to open up after the re-model!

Wonderful food and service! The Salmon Crudo with miso, apple and nori was divine. An artistic setting with a lovely glass floor entrance over a little brook with running water.

The room is beautiful and comfortable (at least for those on the banquettes -- we can't opine on the comfort at the non-banquette tables). The food was interesting and excellent, wine list was strong with good choices at multiple price points. Host was warm and welcoming and made a regular circuit to check in with tables. The other wait staff/service was pretty good to excellent. The restaurant was very full by the time we left, with a commensurate rise in the ambient noise with many happy patrons enjoying themselves. Still perfectly comfortable (we could still have a conversation). We will definitely be back!

Patio was underwhelming (zero ambiance) but luckily they were able to move us inside (nice vibe) which made a huge difference. The food and service was totally on point. Grilled prawns and the toast with anchovies were standouts for me - as were all the raw items we tried (4 or 5 I think and all were superb) - and the desserts were amazing too!! I felt like prices were a little high for what it is (dinner for 4 with no alcohol was about 500 - had they not been able to move us inside, I would not have been happy tbh) but patio experience excluded, food quality was excellent and service was friendly and attentive. We would return.

Amazing dinner at Koast! The ambiance, food and service were all top notch. The grilled head on prawns were the best I’ve ever had. Also really enjoyed the wines and list is very well curated. This is such a great addition to the neighborhood.

The wine was good. The food was just OK, there are 109 other places in LA you can go and have a better meal for the same cost:

Small, crowded, very noisy, best part of the very expensive meal was the burger. We also felt extremely rushed by the waiter who finally slowed a bit after we mentioned it to him
