   We were warmly greeted upon walking in and asked if we had a reservation. My boyfriend was asked to remove his hat as it was apart of their dress code and we did as asked. We were actually over dressed for this place so I’m surprised they tried to enforce this rule with us. After we were seated we noticed other men coming in casually dressed and wearing hats, my boyfriend was the only man in there with no hat on. We just found this really weird. Our waitress which I wish I remembered her name was super sweet and attentive the whole time. She’s really good at her job. After ordering I was told they ran out of regular fries and that they can substitute for something else and I choose mashed potatoes. I was asked if I wanted gravy and said yes. (I was never told gravy was an extra $3). I also ordered jerk chicken and asked if there was any jerk sauce and they said no but recommended another sauce I said ok. (I was never told the side of sauce would be $3) That’s $6 extra on my bill I wasn’t told about until the bill came. We didn’t order any drinks as they were well overpriced. There is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill ( we were a party of 2). The overall experience was ok but probably wouldn’t go back.

   Food is always fantastic but I think the service could be better. Regular water and sparkling water was offered. Regular water had an unusual taste. We were given our appetizers without any servings plates. I never received my additional condiment when asked and it took the waiter almost 15 mins to have our order placed. Outside of the service issues. Catfish is a must try. Toasted marshmallow espresso martini brings you happiness and the fried chicken was cooked to perfection!

   Ashley was our server and she provided exceptional suggestions and service. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely return the next time we are in the River North area.

   The food isn’t premium price quality. 11 dollars for a lemonade is ridiculous and 11 dollars for one plain cup of white rice is insane.

   Loved it ! The food and drinks 10/10. We had a great server his name was Chaz he knew everything about the menu didn’t steer us wrong at all. The pasta was great and everything came out in a timely manner. Will be visiting here again in the future.

   I always try to support minority businesses. Considering the day & location I expected a wait. I’m vegan & the options for me were limited. The two they had weren’t very good. The sides (yams, Mac, mashed potatoes) were good. My daughter had salmon & loved it. The waitress gave favoritism to another all male party. The prices & gratuity definitely didn’t match the food & service. 4/10 wouldn’t recommend.

    The restaurant is very cute and it has a great selection of music. The music is too loud to really have a conversation with the person across from you and at one point they even increased the volume. I waited about 20 minutes after my reservation time (I was on time) for a table and my table was oddly placed in what should have been a walk way for servers (they are definitely maximizing the space). Dress code was not enforced. I saw women in revealing clothing and a lady walking around with rollers in her hair. My server (Jordan) was AMAZING. Very personable and attentive. The food was on the salty side and kind of expensive. I paid about $150 total for: shrimp & Grits ($23 ish), salmon bites ($23) Mac n cheese ($13) lemonade ($9) a sidecar drink ($25 ish can’t remember exact price) plus an automatic 20% gratuity (which my server absolutely deserved). They have valet parking or parking decks available. We didn’t see valet and used a parking deck that cost about $35. It’s a cute experience but I wouldn’t visit twice.
