At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

First experience at Kelp despite it being on our doorstep. Was entertaining a couple of Canadian visitors and so glad we made the choice to dine at Kelp. Food was incredible. Service excellent and the atmosphere was chilled and informal. It really was the best and the five of us could t fault the food or the service. Will be back very soon. Thank you.

Outstanding food. Given the quality, the market menu offers superb value. My wife and I loved every single dish. Service excellent too, although the restaurant was pretty quiet when we were there (midweek lunchtime).

Excellent service, food and drink, great food at good prices, we will be back soon Loved the bloody kelp, nice and spicy, we had the market menu, four small plates and two sides, couldn't fault any of it, being picky some more bread would have been good to mop up some of the sauces

Excellent food especially the Shetland mussels which were spectacularly fresh and often large. But we didn’t understand why they were served in a deep curry-based soup which threatened to over-power the divine subtlety of the mussels. We are also regularly niggled in Scottish restaurants why some basic bread is not made available as standard. There were so many lovely juices in the offerings that we felt compelled to request bread (at another £5). When it came it was in thick slabs! Why? Who knows?! Portuguese House wine was lovely and reasonably priced. There’s also a difference between ‘efficient’ and ‘personable’ service. This was more the former and bordered on brusque. So, our pre-theatre market menu of effectively 2 starters and a side each + a glass of wine was £70. Glad to sample but won’t rush back.

Food was delicious and the variety of options on offer was great. The waiter stated the portions were small plates but the portions were a bigger than we expected!
