   This is one of our favorite places to dine in Jackson. My pro tip...reserve the rooftop. It is even open in the winter albeit the outdoor area is closed. The bar upstairs is still open seating and the views are amazing even in winter. The happy hour menu is so good. 5PM - 6PM daily and features some half price menu items. I do know the menu upstairs is different from downstairs so be aware of this. If you're a Paloma kind of person, the one here is amazing. I order it with the spicy salt blend. Service is always good. Food incredible. Highly recommend it.

   Easily the best dining experience in Jackson, and maybe the best modern Japanese in the country. Sitting at the counter is an absolute delight.

   Food was absolutely amazing. From growing up on the west coast, I have had a lot of fresh fish and sushi and this was by far some of the best I have had. Am already planning our next visit to eat here.

   Kampai was absolutely phenomenal. It was the perfect place to celebrate our engagement, and honestly, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The sashimi and nigiri were exceptional, and the rolls were just as impressive. We sat at the bar, which I wouldn’t have wanted to do anywhere else. Chef Chris, with over 20 years of experience and summers spent in Japan, brings a level of authenticity that’s hard to find. His expertise truly shines through in every dish. The service was impeccable. Drinks were constantly refilled without interruption, and plates were cleared promptly. The staff moved like ninjas—so smooth and efficient that I barely noticed our space being cleaned. It was seamless. I can’t recommend Kampai enough—it’s an experience everyone should have. Having dined at Michelin-starred restaurants, I can confidently say I would choose Kampai over any of them. This place is a must!

   The food and service was very good. I wasn’t overwhelmed with the ‘fancy drink’ selection but the rest of the dining experience made up for it. We will be back.

   Always a treat to be at Kampai - can never go wrong with the Karage, the Kinoko, and the John Galt and Gris Ventre rolls.

   Amy was an amazing addition to our experience at Kampi! She, along with her manager made the best suggestion and absolutely made our Christmas Eve meal over the top!

    We booked for dinner at 5pm and were lucky to take advantage of the 5-6pm happy hour! Loved the carafe of sake (Bushido), the karage (fried chicken), we also got the shrimp ceviche, and one of each roll ( tuna, salmon, and shrimp tempura). The miso soup was perfect! Also you must try the cocoa creme brulee!! Great ambiance and service! I’m so glad I got to go here for my birthday!
