My second time eating at Julii. It was as good or better than the first time. Seated promptly. Onion soup and rigatoni were delicious. My grandson had the steak frite and loved it. Kuddos to Julii for being consistently good

Food, ambience and service were excellent. Had an anniversary dinner there last night and it affirmed why Julii is one of our favorite restaurants.

I LOVE Julii. I’ve been a regular for years, having had everything on the menus multiple times. My girlfriends and I have a tradition of dining here during the holidays for dinner and a gift exchange. I docked a star this time. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm. We were prompt and received our drink orders within a reasonable time. The server took time to explain the menu (too long) and said she’d give us some time to decide. By the time she came back, we ordered small plates, it was 6pm. She then informed us that there was a reservation at our table at 7pm so we would have to leave at that time. What? That’s absurd. We obliged, but we all started rushing to open gifts, eat small plates, and order entrees. We then rushed to eat those and finish our drinks. It wasn’t exactly the relaxing experience we are used to at Julii. We looked around at 7pm and there were open tables, and no one was kicking us out. The server then offered us more drinks an a dessert menu. What is going on here? If there was no reservation at 7, why not explain that? Instead it seemed that management may have seen our multiple bags of gifts and wanted to nip that in the bud. Definitely not the server’s doing- it seems someone told her to tell us that. In scanning the restaurant further, no other tables were being rushed along. We planned on a relaxing evening spending copious amounts of money on food and alcohol. Instead we felt unwelcome. Finally at 7:40 our server said they had a reservation there at 7:45. The whole thing is weird. No explanation as to what happened to the supposed 7pm reservation? We were done by then and packed up to go. It was not the best or most hospitable experience.

The scallop crudo and mushroom tagliatelle were delicious. The dinner course, not so much. I had the branzino special. The fish was cooked perfectly but the rest of the dish was tasteless. Also it was advertised as coming with broccolini but it was broccoli.

We had a wonderful evening tonight at Julii. We ordered burrata, French onion soup, Alsatian tart and scallop crudo for appetizers. For mains we had the trout and the scallop risotto. Everything was excellent. The ambience was lovely, service was perfect - very attentive without being overbearing. Burrata is hard to mess up so of course that was great. The tart while good didn’t live up to the hype. It was still very enjoyable! It’s not so much of a tart as it truly is more of a flatbread pizza, but still very good. The trout was tasty and the scallop risotto was very nice. For me, the stand out dish was the scallop crudo -very bright and refreshing flavors. We had a great time and I would definitely come back again!
