   We recently visited Joey in Aventura, FL but Joey Dallas is very different. You do not feel in a mall restaurant, very upscale, beautiful design and decore. The food was good as well as the service. We will go back!

   This is one of the most well deserved 5 star reviews without hesitation. In a city like Dallas, there are so many trendy new spots to eat, but that doesn’t guarantee a great experience. Joey on the other hand, was exceptional from start to finish. It’s located inside of North Park Mall so parking should be easy (also has valet). It’s sleek and chic, but incredibly warm aesthetic is well matched by the attitudes of the hostess desk. I hate to say it, but being met with such great energy and welcoming smiles is rare and Joey has somehow captured it. I had a reservation (which is recommended in my opinion) for 3, celebrating all of our birthdays. It was a slower Sunday evening so I was actually seated ahead of my friends which was nice. Our server Leslie was just as delightful as our entire experience. She was so thorough, attentive, and gave some super solid, descriptive suggestions from the menu that I obliged and couldn’t have been happier. Her and the gorgeous manager in the pink sweater really made our evening. Speaking of food… The photos explain exactly how we all felt about our meals! I wish we would’ve snapped a before, but it’s the after that tells you the real story. I’m a major foodie, I absolutely love to cook and have a deep understanding of layering flavors. This restaurant does not miss. We had 3 very different meals and not one was better than the other. They were all spectacular. We had the Ravioli Bianco (the eruption of well balanced flavors are insanely delicious), Cajun Blackened Chicken with Warm Potato Salad (oh my goodness), and the Steak Frites w/Lobster Tail add-on (I’ve never tasted an add-on lobster that was so perfectly cooked and seasoned). We all tasted each other’s food and the rest was history. Plates were emptied. My only complaint— The cocktails are good but too pricey at $20. I’m personally putting Joey on regular rotation because I feel like I need to try everything on the menu! I highly recommended! (Cross posted)

   The ambience and food was lovely (Although I do not recommend the lump crab cake as it was too acidic and we left that dish as no one at the table enjoyed it). The steaks were cooked to perfection. The mashed potato was DIVINE! They bought my daughters mocktail to the table but we sat for ages waiting for the other three drinks. We had to ask our waiter to and check on the drinks. It is an expensive restaurant but has tacky paper serviettes and take out chopsticks on the table. It cheapens an expensive experience. There were plenty of waiters around yet we sat with our empty glasses and plates in front of us! I had a ask a passing waitress to clear our table. When we finished eating dinner our waiter asked if we wanted dessert. We said No as we were all so full - He left the dirty dishes in front of us and brought the check over? How about you clear the table THEN bring the check. On the booking form they asked if it was a special occasion - I said we were celebrating a Birthday. Not sure the point of that as there was no mention of a birthday or a happy birthday or anything - Don;t ask if you are not going to do anything with the information! Just saying! It was nice but $350 for 4 people I can't say I will go back!

   The pork dumplings were great! The chicken wings were dry as was the chicken in the Mediterranean bowl. Other than the dryness of the chicken, the flavor of the Mediterranean bowl was good. The drinks were slow to come out, and we were one of only 4 tables in the entire restaurant. We got our food before we got our drinks. If you’re open at 11:00 on Sat and Sun, you ought to have a couple of brunch items. $170 for 2 people for lunch seemed pricy.
