JIbek Jolu prides itself on bringing an authentic Central Asian experience to The Glen and surrounding north shore area. By combining central Asian and eastern European cuisine, our menu offers a large variety of cuisine, with delightful dishes and drinks prepared by the best chefs and barmen in the area. The interior of the restaurant is a sight to see, unlike anything you have seen before. We hired the best interior designers, leather, glass, wood, bronze, and felt craftsmen in Kyrgyzstan to assemble a modern design with a nomadic spirit. All the pieces of this ensemble are handmade and brought all the way from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Italy. We hope to see you for large parties, family events, and intimate date nights!

Pros: Large, spacious, beautiful restaurant, with lots of choices in each category. Staff is all nicely dressed, with a bit of a elegant, contemporary atmosphere. Food is well-prepared, high quality, nicely spiced, with many Central Asian specialties. (Calling this an "Asian" restaurant on Open Table is very misleading and incomplete, when the cuisine focuses on food from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.)
Cons: High ceilings and hard surfaces can make conversation difficult, even though tables aren't close together. We had a language problem with our staff - they struggled to understand most of what we said, but frequently didn't get what we were asking for or what our common dietary restrictions were. Generally attentive service but frequent periods where certain orders were nowhere to be found, and our waiter just disappeared for 15 minutes. Our waiter's response to minor requests to alter menu items, like substituting chicken for lamb, or making a standard cocktail that wasn't on the menu, was "sorry, we can't do that." (The bar had all the ingredients). Even a request to refill a standard cup of coffee resulted in three different staff members confused about what to do. Everyone looked like they were trying hard to provide good service, but were either confused or inexperienced. Courses were spaced inconsistently - we waited 20 minutes to get four soups, and then five minutes later all our entrees arrived. On a busy Sunday night, they were out of many items. Finally, they do have a ramp outside for people using a walker or a wheelchair, but it is a LONG walk.

Definitely would recommend for a date night. Unlike any other restaurant that we’ve been to. Excellent food selection, outstanding atmosphere and service was top notch. A truly unique find.

We had a 7:45 pm reservation and arrived a few minutes early, but we were seated right away in the main dining room. Our waitress came over introduced herself, pointed out the specials, answered our questions about a few dishes. We started off with the beet salad. very very tasty lamb chops with vegetable medley, and my wife had lamb shank. All the dishes were very very tasty. There were a couple of large parties next to us. They were ordering all kinds of interesting food choices. Very creative will certainly be back again. Service dinner ambience all great.
