   The outdoor dining area seemed disorganized and dysfunctional. We waited 10 minutes at the hostess area to let them know we had arrived for our reservation then another 15 minutes before someone noticed that we were seated but not given menus. The table next to us had also been forgotten. Overall, it felt like a pop-up restaurant run by a bunch of college students. Food was decent, but expensive.

   We always love eating at Japanese Grandma’s. The food is amazing and service is great. Perfect for families and all ages too.

   The food was very good. The restaurant was very busy. The server (Shannon) was helpful and very pleasant but had little support. The kitchen was running behind so our orders were slow and we had to remind staff that part of our orders were missing. Cocktails were being made by the server. We love this restaurant and will return but it is very evident that they lack staff.

   The food quality and service were excellent. While we didn't sample any of the alcohol, the ginger beer filled the bill. The quality of the fish was as good as many high end Japanese restaurants and every dish was expertly prepared. The staff was efficient, available and efficient. The value was very good especially when compared to the restaurants in Koloa and Poipu Beach making the drive well worth the effort. We would not hesitate to recommend Japanese Grandma's Cafe to anyone.

   Great find in an intimate setting. Highly recommend if you like sushi. Wanton tacos amazing.

   Hostess and server very friendly and professional. Outside seating only, in Kauai, so not so bad, a little humid though. Food was good, no complaints there. Serving portions small for the price (shrink-flation still alive) plus everything is higher priced already in Hawaii, so double whammy on the wallet, so price and value don’t really match.

    We had a cosy outdoor dining experience. The acoustic guitar entertainment set the right tone for the evening. We had Sushi and drinks, both were very delicious. We will be coming back.
