I made a reservation for Ivy and Varley, but when I showed up I was told that I had a reservation at the "jungle disco pop up" next door, called Coco Cabana (this was completely unexpected).. The menu was limited pub food with just a few options and the place was so loud that we all had to scream at each other as we ate. The food was fine, but we would have preferred the larger menu (that we thought we could choose from) and a quieter atmosphere.

The service was slow. The wine showed up after we had been served dinner and we had ordered the wine when we sat down. My potatoes were under cooked. The rest of the food was good just not terrific.

Nice ambiance and a lovely bar with most any spirit you’ll want. The staff was friendly and attentive while obviously training new staff members the evening we dined.

We had a reservation last weekend at Ivy and Varley that we had made through OpenTable. When we arrived they did not honor the reservation and we had to sit at the bar. We were told to "let the bartender know" and they would "take care of us". The service started out fine, but once we had ordered food, no one checked in until a manager (I'm assuming) came and said he was told we were ready for the bill. We were going to the play at the Eccles theatre and still had over an hour before it started, so we were going to get another drink or two. Not sure why this is how they handle a check, especially when no one asked, it was just assumed. At the end of the day, we got the items we paid for, but really no reason to return. Reservation wasn't honored and service left a lot to be desired.

Cute location. This was our second time going to this restaurant and unfortunately both times had awful service. It too bad, it’s a cute restaurant in the heart of downtown with a lot of potential, but we won’t be going back.

Great food. The parking is all on street parking which is expected for downtown, but it was tough trying to figure out where to park. It was quiet on this day and the service seemed to be very casual.
