   The focaccia was amazing. The chicken was so tender I didn’t need a knife. The desert was unreal. And the ambience is 10/10

   One of the best restaurants I have ever dined at! Visiting DC from Colorado, and worth the trip just to eat at Iron Gate. Fabulous food, drinks, service and ambience. This is my second time dining at this establishment, and I will make a point of returning to this amazing restaurant next time I am in DC!

   Our go-to restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. We've only done the a-la-cart menu, but the food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere and service feel very special. Highly recommend the focaccia.

   Fantastic Alaskan crudo. It was very light. I paired it with a Greek white wine. The octopus was exquisite. It was very moist. Cooked to perfection. The hummus and bread on the house was second to none. I have never had hummus like this. It was so good. The off the menu olive torta and apple compote on top with whip cream was really good. I had it two nights. I need to be dairy light and no malt. Amazing waitstaff at the bar too.

   The Iron Gate is a true stand-by for special occasions or just a relaxed meal. Its historic ambiance is appealing and relaxing. The food is innovative and good; the wine list could do with a revamp for wines by the glass. The downstairs dining room was a bit crowded and table placement not ideal but lovely fire for a crisp cold March evening ! Service was very good.

    Always delicious food. Vegetarian friendly. Big list of mocktails. Try the Laverna & Shirley. Great friendly staff. Love this place esp when it is warm enough to sit on the lovely terrace. Today was a fireplace day. So cozy.
