Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.
Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

Incredible, as always. Celebrated Valentine's with cocktails, prime rib, dessert. Everything was on point. Service was great, food was fantastic, and the Inn has an excellent ambiance. This is our favorite place to go for birthdays and events, and it doesn't miss

Our service was impeccable as usual. But the food quality was off from our prior visits. My wife’s sea bass special was dry and lackluster. My favorite & usual dish - melt in your mouth rack of lamb was tough & chewy. I don’t know what happened - new vendor or just a bad cut of meat. Kind of dissapointed.

The food was not hot. The steak for Warm at best. I ordered a New York steak medium rare and it was rare. the waiter was fine so the service was good. The drinks were good, but the water tasted terrible It’s like really bad tapwater

As outstanding as the food was, the service was equally as terrible. This was the second time in a row, the service was sub-standard. We were immediately seated, offered a libation, and presented with menus. The appetizer and soup/salad were served with no problem at all. We waited almost half an hour for our entree, while customers that came in after us had appetizers, soup/salad, and their entrees and left. We were informed twice that our dinner was being plated. Almost ten minutes passed before Kyle brought us our food, not Thomas our waiter. The food was outstanding as usual. After our meal we were asked if we wished to see the dessert menu, which was delivered within five minutes. While we waited for our waiter to come back, we decided on two cordials, and New York Style Cheesecake. Unfortunately Thomas didn't come back for almost 20 minutes. By then we had been in the restaurant for over two hours and just wanted to leave. As previously mentioned, twice now, the food was outstanding, but the service, politely, SUCKED.

Consistently good food and service. Clam linguine is a favorite among many other favorites. Free corkage with Calera and DeRose wines makes it even better and always draws us back.
