Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy.

My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 9 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger.

Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and traditional local Tuscan food.

Our mission is to bring people together for an amazing Italian experience with good food, wine and good times and share with you my strong passion and our local traditional cuisine as if you were in Tuscany.

    Great food, a little noisy because they were so busy. I had to catch the eye of wait staff to order drinks rather than a greeting and an offer to get us drinks and again had to catch their eye to order entree. Very pleasant and helpful when we were served though.

    Booked the table for 4 and then requested an upgrade to 6 on the day. This request was granted without issue. The ambience was great, service was great however there was no tiramisu. This is our second time attending this restaurant and still waiting on the famous tiramisu. Service was great. Very friendly and helpful. Service with a smile. Size of meals were generous. My friend is a celiac and they cater to gluten free. Very impressed.

    Another fabulous meal at Il Toscano’s Long Jetty. Disappointed that there was no tiramisu so we’ll have to come back again soon.

    My wife and I have had dinner there many times and the food has always been excellent. We have taken many friends there with us and their only isssue was the price of the alcohol. We have all agreed that the service is also very good and friendly. My opinion is if you like authentic pasta dishes well you will have to book a table.

    We were searching for best places to eat near Long Jetty and Il Toscano was one of the top choices. We had our anniversary dinner here. The restaurant was accessible, just along the main road. Waitstaff were friendly. Though the restaurant was packed, they made sure that each of their guests were served. One of the best fresh pasta I’ve ever tasted! Must try and will definitely come back when we visit the area.
