   Once again, Carmelo and Maria made our night special. John was our server and was engaging, informative and pleasant. The food is always fabulous. What an experience!

   We really liked this restaurant, the inside is nicely decorated, tables aren't too close and sound level is not bad - I could actually hear my dinner partners. The food was excellent - we started with the Lobster Bisque - creamy but not heavy and nicely seasoned. I had the Ronald Reagan pasta - excellent. My other diners had the Tortellini, Chicken and Strip steak. All enjoyed their meal as much as I did. We'll be back.

   In my opinion one of the most romantic restaurants in the greater St.Louis area. The atmosphere, service and the carefully prepared items on the menu are in a word, outstanding! One of the few restaurants in the area where you feel like a member of the family as soon as you walk through the door. For special occasions or just need a respite from the crazy world, you just can’t miss with a visit to Il Bel Lago

   Overall, our experience was enjoyable, and the restaurant is in a great location—perfect for a date night. However, there were a couple of disappointments. Given that it was Valentine’s Day, my wife and I were surprised that they ran out of scallops so early in the evening. Our reservation was at 5 PM, which seems too early for a popular dish to be unavailable. My wife ordered the stuffed lobster and found it to be quite small compared to a similar dish she had at a restaurant on The Hill, where the lobster was generously stuffed with pasta. Naturally, she made the comparison and felt underwhelmed. Since my goal was to ensure she had a fantastic dining experience, this was a bit of a letdown. I had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection and tasted great, but unfortunately, it wasn’t served hot. While it didn’t take away from the flavor, I would have enjoyed it more if it had been properly heated. Overall, the ambiance and setting were nice, but a few missteps kept it from being a truly exceptional experience.

   My wife an I had a day early Valentine's dinner which was excellent. The restaurant's atmosphere was the best and the service by "Layla" was over the top! It couldn't have been a better! I scored some big points with my wife (which are always helpful) for sure and will certainly be making another visit to El Belago in the very near future once again!

Food: The menu features a variety of Italian dishes that are both delicious and beautifully presented. Standout dishes include the Veal Saltimbocca and Sea Bass, which are cooked to perfection. The house-made dumpling noodles and the broiled veal chop with black truffle sauce are also highly recommended Service: The service at Il Bel Lago is consistently fantastic. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable. Whether you're there for a business meal or a romantic dinner, you'll feel well taken care of Wine List: The wine list is superb, featuring a balanced selection of Italian and American wines at a range of prices. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into curating a list that complements the menu perfectly

   Came here for our anniversary. The food and drinks completely exceeded our expectations. Our server, Steve, was so attentive and made the experience even better for us. Everything came out tasting incredible. Our favorite part of the meal was definitely the tiramisu dessert.
