Hy's Calgary is a modern rendition of the classic steakhouse tradition. Pride of place is held by the circular, glass enclosed grill room, producing perfect charcoal grilled Canadian Prime Grade steaks. The horseshoe shaped bar is surrounded by lounge and dining spaces that are both spacious and intimate. The menu features classic and newly imagined recipes, but Hy's favourites, like the famous Caesar salad and Steak Diane, are still prepared tableside. The extensive wine list, and delicious, hand crafted cocktails, promise something for every taste.     Great food and service as always. We got their famous cheese toast, table side Cesar salad and steaks. New York Strip for me, filet for the lady. Cooked to perfection of course. We had baked potatoes for our sides and the server brought us extra toppings. Top drawer. We ended the night with their key lime pie. Delicious. If you’re in to mixed drinks, try their old fashioned. It’s one of the best in town.

    We chose Hy's to celebrate a special occasion and were not disappointed! The food was delicious, our server (Dino) was outstanding, and the ambiance was great with live music playing in the restaurant. We elected to go with some of the tableside-created dishes and they were not only delicious but added some additional interest to our meal. This is definitely a place we will return to for special occasions.

    Caesar salad and cocktails were fabulous. The cheese toast is homey and delicious. Steaks were amazing- aggressively seasoned which we like but if you’re not a salt fan you may want to let them know. Finished with crème brûlée I was so full but it was good couldn’t stop! Thank you Bruce and team for the wonderful service!

    Excellent food & service. The rack of lamb was done to perfection & the Gorgonzola filet is sinful. Still the top steakhouse in Calgary!

    We have always enjoyed Hy’s and consider it one of our favorite dining destinations. However, in my 26 years of dining experience in Calgary, I have never encountered a restaurant charging $2.80 for a small taste of wine I requested before committing to a $56 order of two glasses of wine. Additionally, this was a celebration for my son’s birthday. While the restaurant kindly brought a small in-house sorbet for the occasion, I was still charged $7.12 for it. Really, Hy’s? I didn’t notice these charges on the bill at the time and paid a generous tip, only to discover them later at home. I must say, I am very disappointed.

    Excellent steak house. From the food to the excellent service from Dino, our server, we had an amazing time. Very comfortable elegance. Great selections of steaks and other items. Nothing was rushed and nicely spaced. It was a great night out for a special occasion
