Husk Savannah, the third outpost by The Neighborhood Dining Group highlights the unique ingredients of coastal Georgia. Located on W. Oglethorpe St. in the heart of Savannah’s Landmark Historic District, the restaurant is situated on what is known to be one of the most haunted blocks in the city. Originally built in 1898, the building has a vibrant history and plenty of (ghost) stories to share. The cuisine of Husk Savannah upholds a strictly Southern philosophy – working with local farmers and purveyors for a menu of exclusively Southern-grown ingredients. Tried-and-true techniques of seed-saving, heirloom husbandry, in-house pickling and charcuterie programs by the culinary team are the basis of Husk’s offerings with a menu that changes seasonally.

I've been to Husk multiple times in the past, and it was always a tremendous experience, so we booked it on the final night of our visit. We also visited The Olde Pink House, Local 11Ten, and Noble Fare. All were significantly better. We were seated promptly and given water service. Fifteen minutes later the waitress took our drink order, and another 25 minutes later they arrived. (A cocktail, a glass of wine, and an iced tea.) No bread. (Had to pay for biscuits.) Another twenty minutes later, a full hour after having been seated, the waitress took our dinner order. I understand it was busy, but we lost track of the number of times she would check on one of her tables next to us and then disappeared when we were actually trying to flag her down so we could at least order another drink. Once we ordered, the food came out relatively quickly. I had the tilefish, which was good, but the rest of the food went half eaten. Rather than risk more waiting downstairs, we paid our bill and went upstairs to the bar for dessert. The service was much quicker, but the desserts also went half eaten (by two still hungry people who normally scarf down dessert). The pleather chairs at the high tops were all peeling badly. In our Uber on the way home, the young man told us the prior chef (or perhaps owner) had sold the place. It shows.

Only downside was a reservation issue. We booked on open table and they have since switched to resy. Our reservation was not transferred over. Luckily they were able to accommodate us.

We really enjoyed our experience at Husk. The service was prompt and the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant is in a historic house and each room creates a cozy setting for a quiet meal. The food was a little salty for me, but still very good.

Husk was a disappointment. The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was subpar for the price. The trout was very fishy - I’ve had WAY better fish, especially for the $37 price tag. We loved the drinks, but overall, we would not recommend it, especially when there’s so many other food restaurants in Savannah.

Husk was a perfect night out for us. We were seated upstairs in a smaller & quieter corner, which we enjoyed, and we never felt rushed. The feedback and recommendations on various choices from cocktails to oysters to entree’s was thoughtful and honest. We enjoyed every one of our courses. Presentation of the food was beautiful and portions were just right - so perfect, in fact that we decided to indulge in dessert. Would definitely recommend.

Very attentive staff. The food - to my taste - was very spicy. A side dish was inedible due to the heavy application of chili oil and harissa. I said I didn’t like things too spicy but that it’s all a matter of perspective.

Jacob was our server, who was very knowledgeable when asked about the dishes and his recommendations. However we didn’t see him much and drinks took a while. They weren’t super busy because our reservation was at 5:30 but appetizer and entrees took a little over an hour. Probably wouldn’t return.
