The highlight of dinner was getting Fast Passes for the show that night and that should tell you everything you need to know about eating here. The server did a n okay job as we told him we were not in a hurry. We asked him to not put the dinner in until we finished the apps but our mains came about three minutes after the apps. The kitchen muffed it. Thn my husband and I both ordered the NY Strip medium rare. His was done properly and my was more raw than cooked. While I get that we weren't dining at a fine steak house, there is a difference between medium rare and blue/raw/Pittsburgh style. Had the steak been a tuna steak, it would have been perfect. But it wasn't tuna. So the kitchen totally redid the steak instead of just cooking the one I had some more ... maybe there are rules about this. In any event, my husband was done with his meal before I ever got mine. The restaurant offered nothing for this mistake; no apology from a manager, no discount, no comped meal, no free drink, no dessert. Really disappointed.

For many years I used to manage bars and restaurants, so please take my opinion into consideration. I ordered the chicken tenders plain ($14) and skillet macaroni and cheese ($10). Overpriced and subpar for the chicken tenders for sure. I could have ordered better chicken tenders at Raising Cane's for half the cost. The mac & cheese was good, but nothing special or spectacular about it to warrant charging $10. Again, overpriced for that. On another note, we walked in to the restaurant at 7 when the restaurant was not even full and we were required to have a reservation. We walked outside, put ourselves on the reservation list and walked back in. The reservation list was an absolutely ridiculous requirement considering after we walked back in, the restaurant did not fill up, but only thinned out more and it thinned out fast. Your employees should not have been turning people away like that if you want customers there. The next concert I go to there, I will not have any desire or reason to come early and eat at House of Blues. Having worked in the industry myself for many years, the only thing I can say good about your restaurant, was the waitress Libby was on point with attention to detail, and making sure we were accommodated well. The one thing I will give 5 stars for is the waitress name Libby for excellent service.

Loved the atmosphere and the entertainment. The food took a long time to come out but was good. Our waitress was horrible. She came by the table to get our drink order and luckily we were ready to order when she came back because we hardly saw her again after that. She brought us our check but none of the food on it was ours. We couldn't find our waitress or anyone to help us. I never got the margarita I ordered. When I asked the bartender for help and to cancel my drink, it still took her a long time to come back with the correct bill. She never apologized and no one ever came over to check on us. It's disappointing because the restaurant was really cool.

We drove into Houston to see a show at HOB with my husband and 14 y.o. son. We had reservations for dinner before the show. We arrive at 5:30pm on a Wednesday and the dining room was pretty open - probably didn't need the reservation just FYI. Bo Bottoms was singing (she's fab - covering acoustic versions of Taylor Swift and others plus a few originals - very talented!). The noise level was energetic yet we were able to have a conversation easily. Our waiter may have been the only waiter in the dining room - he seemed to be waiting on every table, but didn't miss a beat and everything was delivered on time and delicious. Giving the food 5 stars b/c it was exactly on point for what I expected - approachable bar bites and everything was super tasty. Thanks for a great trip!
