Welcome to Hazel Kitchen and Bar – a celebration of creativity and community.

A dining, bar and event space nestled within the iconic Hazelhurst Arts Centre. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner with Live Jazz every Sunday night in February.

Hazel pays homage to the site’s Art Deco heritage and adds a contemporary twist to create a uniquely elegant atmosphere for your next event or dining experience. Whether it’s a casual drop-in or an extravagant celebration, Hazel celebrates the intimate moments as well as the revelry.

    The newly revamped Hazel has a lovely indoor/outdoor feel, an interesting menus with something to suit most appetites and tastes. I thoroughly enjoyed the barramundi, deliciously moist.

    First visit and was a little underwhelmed. The size of the coffees was small. Their large is the size of other cafes small. I had to send my coffee back because it was luke warm. Food was OK though it didn't quite match the description. I had a Salmon dish with a rosti but the "rosti" was an oven baked square which had not binder, so it just fell apart. My wife enjoyed her mushroom dish. The consensus around the table was that no one would be back in a hurry for breakfast. I will try the lunch menu before I write this place off though.

    We went on a Saturday night so was fairly busy. Waited over an hour for our food to come had to constantly flag down staff for a drink or any attention. Once our food finally came, most of it was bland and flavourless (although you could tell it was high quality produce) and then once the mains had been taken away we were completely ignored no dessert or additional drinks despite it then being quiet. Waited another 15 mins before we eventually stood up paid and left. Wine list and ambience was beautiful. Staff were friendly, but felt inexperienced to handle so many tables. Lots of potential, but service and flavour let it down for me.

    New business but the owner not new to business. Young ladies serving were very pleasant but run off their feet. 30 minutes for a drink. 50 minute for entree in a set menu fully pre-booked environment. Interaction with the owner was very strange to say the least when an issue with some quality was raised. An evening to remember for the wrong reasons. Huge miss and won't be back

    Excellent service, we came with a baby in a pram and the staff were very accommodating. Service was attentive throughout our meal. The quality was excellent- the straciatella and kingfish crudo, fries with truffle sauce and salad were all delicious. We shared a rumbaba for dessert - as good as my parents made in the 70s! Great day out

    All staff were delightful, provided exceptional service. Ensured our needs were well met, all food was absolutely delicious and portions are very generous. We chose a mix of share plates and were all so full! Will absolutely be returning!

    Amazing sanctuary in the heart of the Shire. Delicious modern Australian-European food, great wine list and beautiful design. Highly recommend!

    We had a lovely breakfast at the new Hazel cafe. Were greeted warmly and although I had booked an outside table was offered the option of inside as it was quite warm. We sat outside, however the new renovation looked great, and now there is a dinner option would be nice to inside in the evening. The staff were very accomodating and attentive. We enjoyed our food and experience at Hazel
