   We recently visited Local Jones for dinner on my wife's birthday. Though my wife's meal was well-prepared and to her liking, we had several issues that weren't resolved properly. First, I always consider problems to be an opportunity (for service providers who care) to demonstrate excellent customer service by dealing with problems in a prompt and equitable way. That said, I've never had a worse restaurant experience when it came to my meal. Pot Roast is not some sort of mysterious food that's difficult to prepare. During our meal it took three tries for Local Jones to provide me with an edible meal. The first pot roast order was barely warm, so I sent it back. The second was also, incredibly, just as lukewarm -- no better than the first. At that point our waitress was visibly frustrated by the issues with the kitchen, and advised me she'd informed both the chef & the manager. Because of the problems she suggested I order the steak frites. Though I ordered it medium rare, it arrived very rare -- but at that point all I wanted to do was eat (it was still delicious, though undercooked) and get out of the restaurant. By the time my steak arrived we were 90 minutes into our meal, and my wife had finished her meal long before. Not an ideal birthday celebration, to say the least. When the check came our server said she'd gotten the manager to remove the cost of an appetizer from our bill. I was honestly stunned that they would even charge me for my entree. After all, we waited 90 minutes for a properly prepared meal, had to send two dishes back, and the replacement (steak) wasn't cooked to my request. Furthermore, I was told I should order an item that was far more expensive than the pot roast. I'd love to be more positive about our experience. Local Jones has great decor and a pleasant staff -- but I would never recommend them. Paying $200 for a meal of this quality was honestly ridiculous, given the situation. Sorry, Local Jones, but never again...

   Really enjoyed the Pinkies up Springtime Tea! Expansive assortment of sweet and savory treats, great selection of teas, really cute space. It's quite loud, though and on Sunday there was a DJ.

   Like the food and service, however don’t like being nickel and dimed. A service charge for the use of a credit card, a service charge for the sidewalk…yes, the sidewalk, and a service charge for the kitchen staff.

   Overall it was really fun to try out a new brunch spot outside of our neighborhood. We enjoyed ourselves with yummy food, a quiet table in the corner and wonderful service. We were surprised to see a big dog come in and sit under their table with barking and eating off of the floor as they gave the dog some bacon?! I’m allergic to dogs and thought only service animals would be allowed inside the restaurant even though they allow dogs in the hotel next door. Our server was thoughtful enough to say she could talk to her manager and I let her know since we were leaving she didn’t need to address it for our sake right away. I hope this can be enforced and clearly written in the expectations of dining at this restaurant so we could comfortably return. Thanks, A brunch lover patron
