It all started in the late 1800’s.. a young Gustav Johann Garbe got on a boat from Bremen, Germany to New York, destined for the North West Territories of Canada. Gustav stood up and stood out, always with family, friends and community at the forefront of his mind. His drive, passion and core values have directed four generations of self made entrepreneurs to where we find ourselves today.

John Garbe, in the name of his great grandfather, has assembled a team of exceptional professionals. The menu has been carefully developed, relying on local farmers and community for unsurpassed cuisine. The service experience is firmly rooted in family and friends. This is Gustav.

    They shouldn’t put on the menu what they can’t cook. The Monte Cristo was definitely NOT a monte cristo. It was an empty plate with no personality. Frozen, cold home fries. And 2 pieces of bread, not French toast, with a piece of cheese with a little slice of ham and a so called bechamel sauce that was a white, lumpy flour with too much pepper sauce. Very disappointing. I felt bad for the server trying to explain what it was she had delivered me.

    Overall, enjoyed the dining experience. Excellent service. The only thing disappointing was the tomahawk steak, which we ordered two of (and priciest item on the menu), was over done. We had asked for medium rare. It was definitely medium - well in some portions. Table of 6, we all thought this, but didn't want to say anything at the moment as the service was great, the ambiance was great, and we enjoyed ourselves.

    One of the best meals I’ve had out in a very long time! Meal was 12/10, service was above and beyond, and we just had such a wonderful and exceptional experience. Best dining experience I’ve had in the area! Definitely a new staple for our family. Chad and his staff are wonderful at what they do. ♥️ thanks Gustav and staff!

    We celebrated our wedding anniversary and we had an amazing experience! We had our actual wedding dinner here four years ago and we return every year. The food is incredible! The staff are very friendly, and our server Chris was outstanding! We received complimentary sparkling wine and dessert. We've dined at Gustav through the years, for various occasions, and also just when we want a night out with wonderful food. We've never had a bad experience. This restaurant is a real gem.

    First off, the waitresses, the manager, and the food was all top notch. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and they all went above and beyond for my husband and I. Our dinner meals were incredible…compliments to the chef. It was pretty noisy but I believe there might have been a rehearsal dinner or something along those lines so totally understandable. All in all, we will return! Hats off to you all.

    Amazing steak prepared however you’d like! Went for the Chicago-style and it was outstanding! Perfect service as well. Would love to come back.
