Wide selection of dishes. We had the butter chicken, biryani, chaana, naan dosa, and tandoori cauliflower. All very good. The desserts were excellent as well. Will be back.

Food was delicious, one of the best lunches for a long time. Won’t be going back to my local restaurant for Masala Dosa! GupShup just spoiled that for me. Will be back again soon

I used to love GupShup but when I was there Tuesday night, the maitre d came over, asked if we enjoyed our meal, and asked us to pay. But we were never asked if we wanted another drink (during dinner), we were still finishing our drinks, and the waiter who never came back after delivering our food, didn’t ask if there was anything else, nor dessert. And here’s the other thing, and maybe I have inappropriate expectations, but my friend avoids dairy, so when we asked if anything could be made with coconut milk or without dairy, we were told everything is already prepared. Not what I expected…

Fantastic. The Butter chicken is the best I’ve ever tasted. The bread with cheese inside was awesome. We had a great experience and will be back for a 3rd time!

Excellent, creative & authentic food, very friendly and attentive service, and great value for money. My wife and I went for a brunch for my birthday. And really enjoyed it. Even the complimentary masala chai was very well done - and I am super-picky about chai. Really appreciated the birthday gulab-jamun as well. The manager shared all their ventures in Manhattan. And we even ended up getting a dosa at Ammi at Pier 57 later in the day.

We had a great experience. The food was delicious. I really liked the chief chef coming to our table and introducing himself. The server was knowledgable and nicely explained whatever questions we had. The ambience was nice.

Food is great but prices are outrageous. Been to many Indian resteraunts in my life and this was one of the priciest. We ordered an appetizer (fried okra), one dinner item (paneer dish), an order of naan, and gulab jamun for desert. Total came up to almost a hundred dollars before tip... And worst part was we were still hungry after the fact because of how small the portion sizes are. Large plates are essentially normal portion sizes for one person and small would leave anyone feeling hungry. The $16 gulab jamuns only had three of those tiny balls, and the crispy okras, while great in taste, were also outrageously expensive for the small amount we got. Bottom line, if you're spending $100 + tip at a restaurant you expect to leave feeling full (we are both skinny people, not big eaters) but we sure didn't. Worth it for the taste if you have some extra money digging a hole in your pocket but expect to leave feeling hungry unless unless you're okay spending a lot. At the end of the day with so many cheaper and just as tasty alternatives out there, I just can't help but think - why bother?
