   First time visit as staying locally. Great food, well priced and attentive service. Pulled lamb shepherd's pie and steak and ale pies were particularly good. Would recommend.

   Excellent food and excellent service. Requested a certain table in advance and they did it. Waitress was fantastic and owner was brilliant

   Visited for Sunday lunch and booked at relatively short notice. It's a proper traditional, country pub and is cosy inside, it also has ample parking which is a bonus. The food was traditional Sunday roast fayre with a selection of meats as well as a vegetarian option. Everything was well cooked, tasty and came to the table hot. Service was friendly, efficient and quick. Although we wanted to leave a tip they said they couldn't accept tips either via the card machine or in cash and just asked us to leave a review which is unusual. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

   It was my first visit and I won't be going back again, I ordered the mushroom and Stilton starter and was really disappointed it was si small for how much it cost 7.95, and the mains were bad too my husband ordered the chicken pasta dish it was dry and the chicken looked like it had been boiled , the beef was tough and I only got 2 small pieces, the carrots and parsnips were dry and tough it was hard to cut them and it wasn't very warm either. The staff wasn't very attentive to say it wasn't busy and it cost nearly £50 we also only had 1 drink I didn't even have alcohol so I think it's way over priced. I was a publican for 30 years so I know what I'm talking about I'm not surprised it wasn't busy the staff never even said thanks and goodbye as we were leaving. So that's why we won't be returning.

   Lunch for 8. Everyone thought the food was lovely service was faultless. Open fire next to us. Overall can't fault, well worth a visit.

    Nice pub , plenty of parking. Good selection of food and regular check ins from staff. Food was good and reasonably priced. We ordered 2 small desserts with a hot drink and a sundae but had to wait a significant amount of time for desserts and ended up cancelling them as we had finished the drinks to go with them. We were advised that we're short staffed in the kitchen. The ladies toilets were unpleasant which has lowered our overall score.
