   2024-11-17. Grand Tavern, Troy, MI. This location is close to me, so I only come on special occasions. This time it was in celebration of a birthday and for Sunday Brunch. Why Brunch, simple. They serve Ribeye! The last time we were here was at least a year ago and what I've noticed is that the menu if always changing. The staples (Salads, Cocktail Shrimp, Fruit, Desserts) are always there and their MO (Modus Operandi) of having some some chefs at a carving station, and making fresh made to order waffles, pancakes, and omelettes is fantastic. This is also one of the few places that actually have real horse radish to go with your Ribeye and au jus. Notables about the menu is that it's missing some of the other things I really enjoyed with past dining experiences. Essentially the charcuterie items; cold cuts, hard cheeses, smoked salmon, cured meats, olives, etc. The ambience is nice and depending on the time of year you go, they have a beautiful covered patio as well as a fully open one. Service is also top notch here and I've never had a bad experience with any of their workers. Parking is also never a problem because of their location. Located in the Midtown Square at Coolidge and Maple, there is an abundance of free parking. I prefer this location over the one in Rochester Hills because I personally think the menu is way better. Whether you're here for dinner, happy hour, or weekend brunch, the food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the people are great. Cheers.

   Food was excellent. Made a few changes to our dish and was told one price and charged another. Overall it was excellent and would for sure go again.

   Our party of 7 had a lovely lunch at the Grand Tavern-Troy. Service was excellent and the food delicious. We even had separate checks. Great place! We are definitely coming back.

   Not exactly Grand, but good. "Risotto" is not at all risotto but rather rice pilaf, disappointment 😒 Flatbread was very very flat and didn't feel like a thin pizza crust but rather a soggy cracker. Walleye was great and very large portion. Burger was average. Good prices and our server Kasey was great.

   Service leaves a lot to be desired at this restaurant from the host stand to the server we had. It wasn't an welcoming experience at all. The food overall was not good. My friend did say the French Onion Soup was good. I'll stick with the sister restaurant 5th Tavern in Bloomfield, Twp. We always receive exceptional service, food and drinks there.

    Fish was burnt on edges. Sauce too heavy. Potatoes not mashed. Food not up to par but Jesse was a great server.
