Not the greatest experience that I had. The waiter at the front had try to upsell me with a cabana for a single person. Then the manager told me there was a $300 minimum for drinks, may I have to reiterate that this is for one person. I decided to not have dinner due to this service

This was a total bust. The hotel is amazing but not this outdoor experience. 1)The woman at the check in was oddly irritating, trying to sell us an upgrade to fire pit seating before anything else. 2) Its not ice skating. The "rink" was very small and full of young children. It felt over crowded, so we chose to skip it. 3) My family wanted to play ping pong, but their was only one table. As we watched others playing on it, we noticed the ball was broken and so was one of the paddles. 4) No heaters near the bar / food area (or anywhere I could see). 5) We stayed inside the venue for less than 10 min before we left.

Please provide public parking or include parking in your ticket price. We didn't try the food. A glass of wine was $28, there isn't any value in anything that was offered. We won't be back. Ambience was pleasant.

The lines do get long when you order food and they only had one cashier. We were not able to hear the Christmas music, so it would be nice if they added speakers by the kitchen/bar area. The ice skating rink is more for children because it is so small for adults. We wished it was bigger and that it was made from real ice. The skates were very uncomfortable. Overall the ambience was right out of a Hallmark movie.

This is really a great Christmas event! The server was great but he’s over worked. They need more server’s per Fire pit! The poor kid was running him self ragged. It would benefit the customers and staff if the staff served just 2 or 3 fire pits at a time!

We went last year and had the best time. We were able to reserve a fire pit with a $100 minimum food and beverage order. Had great service and a wonderful experience! This year really fell flat for us. You could only reserve a fire pit by paying $100 PLUS spending $100 on food and beverage. So we opted to just reserve a regular table. What they don’t tell you is the table is way in the back not near any Christmas festivities and there is no service (self-service at the bar) and no heaters! We were freezing and miserable. It also seems they are understaffed. While the bar service was very friendly, it took 25 minutes to get our drink order and about 30 for food. Which is fine, but again no heaters and we were freezing. Also there was an issue with the registers not working properly so lines were overly long. We ended up just going inside to get a drink and get warm. A miss for us overall and TBD of we’ll be back next year. Food and drink is amazing though and overworked staff was very helpful and friendly!

The ambiance was great and the food was actually very good. The service was pretty poor - lots of people working but it took forever to place orders, get place settings, etc. Also you expect to overpay at the grand. But I did not appreciate adding 20% tip to the $100 fire pit “rental fee” on top of expensive food and drink. That left a bad taste in my mouth.

We had a lovely time. The service was great, the cabana was lovely and we enjoyed the fun music and food but the skating wasn’t great. It was expensive for what it was.

The earliest reservation we could get was 7:30pm. Brought our two kids 4 and 8 years old. Spent $168 to get in and was completely let down. Only 3 stops for trick or treating so each kid got 3 pieces of candy. An average pizza was $27 and a burger was $21. We were expecting a spooktacular experience but it was a major let down. Our kids got all dressed up and were ready for some good Halloween excitement. We love the Fairmont and the Christmas celebration but this was very different. Many others that were leaving when we arrived had bags filled with candy. I'm thinking at our 7:30pm times slot, many of the activities and trick or treat stations were already closed. The kids were very disappointed and wanted to leave after 30 minutes. Again, not what I would expect from the Fairmont Del Mar. Honestly should have been free to get in since we still payed $160 for food and 2 drinks, then another $12 for parking and $5 tip. More a place to pop in, take a couple photos and leave.
